Alaska First!

Featured Replies

I loved Hawai'i (although I haven't gone back ... yet!) and one of the things I loved the most was the bridges. So many of them and so much fun to fly under.

Haven't found a lot of bridges in Alaska yet. In fact, haven't found any! I guess they use airplanes to get around the State, not cars and roads and bridges.

Until I flew down the Yukon River and came across this:

Looks like a bridge to me! Although I couldn't really figure out which bridge. There is an "E.L. Patton Yukon River Bridge", supposedly the only bridge to cross the Yukon River, so I imagine this is it. It is supposed to be on the Dalton (North Slope) Highway, but I could be wrong, don't know much of anything about Alaska.

Of course, I had to fly under it. Lined up over the airport, Russian Mission (RSH) although it seem that the Russian Mission itself, the settlement with its church, is missing.

And away we go! (as the passengers always cry, although as usual they were sick this time - see the Passenger Icon. :LMAO: )

Success! My first bridge in Alaska. Anybody know of any other Alaskan bridges? I would be grateful for the tips.

Best regards.

Luis

They were trying to build a "Bridge to Nowhere" in the Ketchikan Area, to benefit some politician's friend. Google the topic.

I didn't wrote down the places where I'v seen bridges, but following a random highway/road or railway to see where they come out, I have seen several. A few invites to fly under.

Hi,

Flying under not recommended.

Nome or Unalakleet, I think. Close to the end of a runway.

Couple of bridges around Fairbanks, I believe. Its also one of the areas where the team placed much more detail.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

One just northeast of Kodiak I believe. I have flown under 5 bridges so they are out there.

Hey, where did you get that cockpit from?

Go to cockpit view and move your eyepoint back until you 'enter' the cockpit.

None of the instruments work but it's better than nowt.
