Slightly blurred textures

Featured Replies

So yeah, a year later I finally purchased the NGX. All is working fantastically, makes me 500% more excited for the 777 on top of the 1,000,000,000% I already am :LMAO:

Anyway, I was wondering if someone could help me with this, from certain angels and view points in the VC I get blurred textures & some parts clear. I have the standard Anti-analysing on and Global Textures to 100%. Here's my example of what's happening...

You can see, some textures are clear, some aren't. Now when I zoom in they clear up, or if I move to the left or right slightly they might clear up. On my Nvidia settings I've set quality to 100%. Is it just my Graphics Card? (see specs on the left)

Cheers!

Check your fsx.cfg, see that your TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096.

Yeah, I can only think it'll be your TML.

Comsidering that the max size of VC textures is 2048x2048, setting TML wont make a difference. FWIW, my TML is at 1024 and I dont have any blurries in my VC. Probably some thing in Inspector is not set right or its just the angle in which its view making it look like that.

No1, max size of vc textures can be 4096, the NGX ones are 2048 but classics hangar made them at 4096. Even so, setting of 1024 will make them blurrier, No2, if you kept it at 1024 since the begining, you don't notice any bluries. Try putting it to 4096 for a flight and then going back to 1024, trust me, you will feel it. If you look carefully at his screenshot, you will notice that the main panel labels are blury, and yet the displays are crystal clear. If it were a inspector thing, it would blur everything...

Well for what it's worth, I run the NGX and all my textures at 1024 and have seen virtually no difference. However, this of course remains a personal choice. As for Luke's original question, I ask whether you have Nvidia Inspector Luke. if not then it is very simple to get the kind of blurred textures by having the incorrect graphic settings. Anyway, from where I'm sitting the frist thing I would do is check the performance manager in the PMDG folder and ensure all the textures are ticked on the left hand side. Second, and this is the big one, I'd ensure you have Nvidia inspector controlling your graphics. Just as an afterthought, are you running a laptop? If so, then I may question the quality of the image coming out of the Graphics card a 630M GT? Although unlikely to be the entire culprit on it's own, if combined with other shortcomings elsewhere then it may not help. Keep us updated...

What the heck is classics hanger? Are they a texture replacement pack?

The rest of what you said about the TML doesnt make a difference in visual quality as is mentioned by Rockliffe on my rig. I've run both TML at 1024 and 4096 and the VC looks identical on my rig at both settings.

Anti Aliasing may have something to do with this. Are you sure your Nvidia inspector settings are correct?

You could have used google. It is a company that makes fsx aircraft. On their FW190, VC textures are 4096x4096. I've seen the difference TML does with fslabs concorde. It was set to 1024 and I couldn't read a thing. I moved it to 4096 and everything was readable. If you go to your ngx folder and open texture.vc, you'll find that there are files 2048x2048. They can't be displayed corectly unless tml is =>2048.

Hey guys.

I don't actually have Nvidia Inspector, I've heard of it but not sure what it does so never attempted to mess with it. Yeah I'm on a Laptop and my chip is the Nvidia GT 630M 2GB. It's actually done extremely well processing the NGX, as you say the screens are really clear, even some textures but just a few that are not.

Since putting TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096 the exterior has improved but not so much the VC! But, I feel like I've gained a couple of FPS. I don't want to confuse you guys to much trying to explain so here are some screen shots -

http://nvidia-inspec...4d.com/download just do a search on the frum for the best settings and then completely forget about your Nvidia control panel. BTW, I see you have bilinear filtering??This could be a problem, have you tried running filtering at anistropic? I small performance hit but better quality. Also untick AA in FSX and let Inspector take control.

Yes, you should definetly use nvidia inspector to control your graphics. Here is the topic that really helped me set up http://www.simforums.com/forums/fsx-and-nhancer-settings-for-new-drivers-updated_topic36586.html
