August 13, 201214 yr I'm looking at buying XP-10 down the road (not ready yet) but I would like to know who are the 3PD who are and will be making addons for XP-10, if this is not a secret or is it?
August 13, 201214 yr So far, there are only a few that have announced their taking stock in XP (IXEG and Aerosoft for starters - PMDG said they would attempt to convert an aircraft to see how profitable the process could be) as well as many developers that have been creating for XP for years, but without being in the XP market yourself, would be unfamiliar with their names. With FSX being old news (with addons still in the works all the time), developers know of the itch for the next best thing to come along. Since MS is out of the game completely now, the theory is to stay afloat, you would have to continue to find a missing weakness in FSX or develop for the wide expanse that is XP, fresh and incomplete as it is, there is MUCH room for 3rd parties to fill the various voids. I would believe that the names already established will retain their positions with their product markets and possibly push to Prepar3d as the conversion process is minimal for established developers, but to not push into the open waters of XP would be folly. I can see that other talented people may form development groups and start high-fidelity graphically and functionally pleasing addons for XP soon, if not already under development, but as impatient a group as we are, would not want to release any information until ready for release. August 13, 201214 yr Carenado has been developing for FSX,Prepar3D and Xp. 100%75%50%d8a34be0e82d98b5a45ff4336cd0dddc Patrick
August 13, 201214 yr The developers who you might know from the FSX market are: Carenado Alabeo Virtavia (Im not sure if this was a one time conversion of their C17 or if there will be other products ported over) PMDG (future) McPhat (I might be missing one or two) Then there are numerous X-Plane only developers. August 13, 201214 yr Author Thank you for your replies guys but I guess I was fishing to get answers from somebody in the know about new blood......XP-10 staff can answer me maybe?
August 14, 201214 yr One thing I don't understand is my understanding is that the aerosoft USA city series convert nearly perfectly to Xplane-giving amazing detailed USA cities for Xplane without the scenery stutters that FSX produces with this type of scenery-something much desired. Why has aerosoft not converted and marketed this great and eye opening scenery for Xplane.? In my opinion this in itself would be a game changer for Xplane. August 14, 201214 yr To the list of 3pd I would add, since it's my first experience too in the world of x-plane10 - Leading Edge Simulations / X-Aviation. I bought the Sundowner C23, and although not developed for xp10, it runs ok after a simple airfoil exchange. Support from the producer was also great! I recommend ;-) The aircraft model feels great in x-plane10, both graphically and, in what concerns me the most, FDM-wise, although, of course, I can not speak from RL experience on such an aircraft type... Learning to fly gliders since 1980Stopped using flightsims for good since early August 2026, after 34 yrs using some really great specimens... If I'm asked to name the preferred one, after all these years, MSFS 2024 is my answer without hesitation.(No desktop :-// after the last one crashed for good, so no simming, but I keep polling AVSIM - my main ludic activities spot since around 2006...)

August 14, 201214 yr Thank you for your replies guys but I guess I was fishing to get answers from somebody in the know about new blood......XP-10 staff can answer me maybe? Are referring to new developers working on XP alone? If you are, there are plenty. I started a company last year to develop custom airport scenery for XO10, full-time. drawbridge designs
August 14, 201214 yr Why has aerosoft not converted and marketed this great and eye opening scenery for Xplane.? In my opinion this in itself would be a game changer for Xplane. The following post was made July 30th 2011 We have not seen any conversion that looks any good. So while it might be the same raw material it will be pure X-plane 10. And in the end I think we'll come to one single price for a scenery no matter what the platform, just as we now have for FS2004/Fsx On behalf of Aerosoft and with kind regards, Mathijs Kok Rob Otto
August 14, 201214 yr There is also the fact that those sceneries have no nighttime textures, which would tend to work against one of Xplane-10's major strengths, and I am not sure how they would integrate with the XP street network. As a gut hunch, it sounds like one of those things where it would probably be better to start fresh. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... As a gut hunch, it sounds like one of those things where it would probably be better to start fresh. Exactly, I have some of their USA X city (3 or 4 of them) and I quit buying them because they don't have night texture, I've asked Aerosoft about why they don't make it with night texture on their forum, their explaination was a valid one business wise. My post was to see who's working on scenery for XP-10 and how far they are welling to push the enveloppe, I just got Miami 2012 X for FSX (my neck of the woods,on sale at $14.99 6 days ago) http://www.pcaviator.com.au/store/Miami-City-2012-X-FSX.html and to me that's the way to go for XP-10 since it will be a 64-bit platform soon, I understand that autogen (real buildings, trees, and more in a big city) on top of photosceneries is a huge task to accomplish if you want to get it right but man.... the immersion is as real as it get, it's not perfect and can always be improved but for the money I'll take that over any Orbx scenery, and by the way I get a steady 30FPS all over this scenery, I'll post a small vid. soon. As soon as XP-10 is a 64-bit sim. and I can buy addons like Miami 2012 X for it I'll jump ship, to me XP-10 is the sim. with the most promissing future.
