September 14, 201213 yr Edit: Title is suppose to say waterway and water airports. Annoying we can't edit the titles for typos. Edit2: Thank you firehawk44. I like my float planes. Been trying to find some free or payware airports that have nice docks or ports or designed for seaplanes. I found this one and that's it so far in the AVLibrary... http://library.avsim...D=fsx&Go=Search I'm not even sure, do they have any kind of lighting system or markers at real waterway airports? Aside, wonder if its even possible to taxi from water to land on a boat ramp in FSX? Can't say I've seen any airport with this feature. This would be a great one to make in FSX. http://corporate.fly...dia/7651/32.pdf

September 14, 201213 yr IMO Tongass Fjords + ORBX Pacific Fjords added with Misty Moorings stuff offers best for the float/flying boat pilots. Perhaps there are just few big float plane harbors, but still. I'm just building my P3D configuration up, but two weeks ago in my FSX configuration, all I did was fly in that area with Lionheart Kodiak Float and Aerosoft Catalina. Absolutely magnificent combination of payware and freeware sceneries added with great payware planes.
September 14, 201213 yr IMO Tongass Fjords The thing is, I am so lost when I go to misty moorings. They have tons of sceneries..... each one a small part. I wish there was one big install that would load em all. LOL What is the best way to manage that? What do I download and install first, second,...from misty moorings? any ideas? Manny Wow, Misty Mooring stuff does look nice but what a confusing mess to try and figure out. Like Manny asks, any help would be appreciated.

September 15, 201213 yr I posted a similar topic two weeks ago and it all goes back to misty moorings. But for me, too the site is so complex, I didn't bother to follow it up. Switchboard - Track Your Simulator Add-ons - Throttle Quadrant
September 15, 201213 yr Author There are 2 master files it would seem, one for scenery and one for FSEnhancer based addons. Hmm...all the Misty Mooring stuff refers to FS9 or even FS4, will this even work in FSX?
September 17, 201213 yr Author Doh, I was on the wrong site. There is a FSX specific site for Misty Moorings. http://return.mistymoorings.com/mistys/ Bah. Requires Acceleration, Orbx Pacific Fjords, special scenery objects and some even require Tongass Fjords X. I've got none of theses.
September 17, 201213 yr http://www.aerosoft....77026140,D11213 It's an fictional airport customized for seaplanes.... among others. "Aside, wonder if its even possible to taxi from water to land on a boat ramp in FSX? September 18, 201213 yr Aside, wonder if its even possible to taxi from water to land on a boat ramp in FSX? It's possible, I know you can at Aerosoft's Dutch Harbor. It's a bit tricky, though. Florian
September 20, 201213 yr Author I posted a similar topic two weeks ago and it all goes back to misty moorings. But for me, too the site is so complex, I didn't bother to follow it up. I've been doing some reading in down time at my work and found that this page is pretty much what you need to know. From there its just downloading whatever individual addons you want. Edit: This would also be very helpful. September 21, 201213 yr  Still a lot to figure out and install... But thanks for pointing in the direction! It is not complex at all. Every cabin etc. there is, is its own little scenery. Some of them have traffic files and textures, some just use the libraries that are mentioned on the page FAQ. Now, biggest job is, if you download them all, is to add them single handedly to scenery library. I've avoided this so that I've made one Misty scenery folder where I dump every single Misty scenery stuff. RTMM stuff is really great. They are well done and add tons of small details to PFJ and TFX. In effects area you can get some barge traffic and such which is also a nice feature. For example, with TFX, ORBX PFJ and PAKT SP1 airport enhanced with RTMM stuff, you get extremely detailed Ketchikan area. Otherwise, all the little details RTMM offers around the wilderness make those two scenery areas a bush pilots dream. You also get flightplans with them and stories behind the places, some fictional some from real life. Also, every addon there is includes a detailed installation instruction as readme.
October 9, 201213 yr Author Just a warning to others, the requirements they list are definitely correct. I've been installing and trying many addons from both RTMM and other freeware. Finding out that most of them do not work or look proper at all because they are made using the other scenery and objects. Finding out Ultimate Alaska X is required often times too btw.
