And BTW, http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Flight-Simulator-X/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8044d530935 The emphasis on DRM is so striking. Read the description closely. Wow! It might not be news but it was for me. So much mean spirit. No more days of you own what you bought times. The future with a timer. May the Force be with us. Cheers,
September 25, 201213 yr http://marketplace.x...15-d8044e4e0fa4 I thought the choochoo-trainz were over. Apparently not. I have it and I like it. It is a great break from FSX for a while as well. Mostly I just create railroad layouts rather then driving them. I find driving a train boring so i like making layouts and programming AI trains to move goods around. Cheers Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
September 25, 201213 yr The graphics look great on this sim! But I don't like the fact that they may leave garbage on one's system, even if one chooses to uninstall. DRM taken to the point where it gets stuck on a system like malware is too much of an extreme, and I won't buy any product that does that to my system. I keep my system clean for a primary purpose--to run the MSFS products smoothly. John
September 25, 201213 yr And Trainz for iPad is amazing! Yes I spend more time building than driving too! Simmo W, Melbourne, Ozhttp://www.youtube.com/user/id5556
September 25, 201213 yr Railsim (Train Simulator 2013) is where it's at for train sims. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

If you've installed even from DVD then I imagine it's already too late. Gerry Howard
September 25, 201213 yr Had you not noticed that the same wording appears for FSX too? If you've installed even from DVD then I imagine it's already too late. The wording is there but I know the product enough (having done betas) that they put the verbiage there just to cover themselves. They don't leave behind any DRM code. Perhaps the same is true of Trainz and they have the verbiage there just to cover themselves. I have Railsim, btw, but I have to say I am still really impressed with the Trainz graphics. John
September 26, 201213 yr Author I have the old Deluxe edition bought in 2006. So far never had a problem, yet. Cheers, PS: I am still hopeful that they will pick up the franchise trail again and continue the evolution. Choochoos are fun but they are my thing.
September 26, 201213 yr What about Microsoft Train Simulator??? :LMAO: And the "proposed" second version?? :LMAO: Railsim (Train Simulator 2013) is where it's at for train sims. Too bad you can only buy it through Steam. :( i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
September 26, 201213 yr If your looking for realistic physics and top shelf multiplayer, have a peek here. As an ex Loco Engineer, I can tell you the physics and train handling are spot on. Bit of a learning curve if you have not driven a choo choo before. http://www.run8studios.com/ System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A, Intel i9-14900KF, Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL. I find driving a train boring so i like making layouts and programming AI trains to move goods around. Cheers I've had Trainz for a few years now. It's a pity the ground scenery isn't much better than FS9 (*in my early versions*). It doesn't matter too much if you're seeing it from a few thousand feet, but trains don't fly, sadly. It is good fun building layouts & scenery though, and the number of assets available for download is amazing. Last time I looked though, it appears that you have to have a paid-for 'first class ticket' to download anything at all from the website now (not just for faster downloads as in the past).
September 26, 201213 yr Too bad you can only buy it through Steam. :( I literally cringe eveytime someone criticizes Steam without probable cause... Steam is easily the best, most efficient, intelligent, clean piece of software on my computer. I don't see how it is at ALL possible to DISLIKE it?!
September 26, 201213 yr I don't see how it is at ALL possible to DISLIKE it?! Pretty easy. I hate Valve and Steam. They're customer support is horrible. I asked them a simple question about deleting my old demos and they wouldn't help me. I will never put a penny on Gabe Newell's pocket. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB

I like being able to double-click and launch an application straight from the windows desktop. I don't like layers of interfaces between me and the app I want to run. John

John You don't need to open Steam to run a game. Just have Steam create a desktop or start menu shortcut for the game.
