Shockwave and PMDG NGX

Featured Replies

Is anybody able to tell me how to get the shockwave landing lights to work with the PMDG 737NGX in FSX, I have followed the instructions on several sites inserting the necessary lines into the aircraft config file but to no avail if fact, if you remove all the (Lights) lines from the aircraft config file the PMDG lights still work which, leads me to question all the simmers who state " just insert the extra lines in the aircraft config file" can anybody offer any constructive advice ?.

Frustrated.

Hello;

Have you gone over to the forum,they have all the A2A Simulations site,in the forums,they have pretty good info on the lights,I can't recall if I've seen a configuration for the plane,but there probably is,.Hopefully this may help.

Have been there Mark but the information on there does just not work for me but thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the link OmniAtlas, have been there but unfortunately having obtained all the lines of text to add to the aircraft config file and added them as instructed, they have no effect on the NGX lights whatsoever, I even copied the PMDG BAe JS4100 info straight into the NGX aircraft file removing all the original text and that had no effect either, I must be doing something wrong but what, I have no idea.

Techno.

Try these:

[LIGHTS]

//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing, 6=taxi, 7=recognition, 8=wing, 9=logo, 10=cabin

light.0 = 4, 47.000, 0.0, 5.500, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight

light.1 = 4, 45.500, 0.0, 4.500, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight

light.2 = 5, 4.50, -8.24, 0.32, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow.fx // Shockwave light

light.3 = 5, 4.50, 8.16, 0.30, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow.fx // Shockwave light

light.4 = 6, 42.60, 0.00, -5.45, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small.FX // Shockwave light

light.5 = 5, 5.70, 3.65, -3.80, fx_shockwave_landing_light // Shockwave light

light.6 = 5, 5.70, -3.65, -3.80, fx_shockwave_landing_light // Shockwave light

Or these:

[LIGHTS]

//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing, 6=taxi, 7=recognition, 8=wing, 9=logo, 10=cabin

light.0 = 4, 47.000, 0.0, 5.500, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight

light.1 = 4, 45.500, 0.0, 4.500, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight

light.2 = 5, 5.50, -7.90, 0.20, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small_xenon

light.3 = 5, 5.50, 8.50, 0.20, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small_xenon

light.4 = 6, 42.6, 0.45, -5.85, fx_shockwave_landing_light_short

light.5 = 8, 6.70, 3.76, -3.80, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow_no_flare

light.6 = 8, 6.70, -3.00, -3.80, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow_no_flare

light.7  = 1, 5.50, 0.45, 9.80, fx_shockwave_beacon_lowl

You can experiment with lights putting whichever you want, for bigger or smaller, xenon or not etc...

  • Author

I have tried all different combinations including the one's you have kindly supplied Srdan but, I am obviously doing something wrong or missing something out because, no matter what I do or do not put in the

[ LIGHTS ] section of the aircraft config nothing makes any difference to the aircraft lights, even if I delete the [LIGHTS] section completely the aircraft still has exterior lights, I'm at a loss what to try next.

I copied these from youtube. I never tried them myself.

The guy who made the video on the tube gave away his settings, and I was also emailing with him, discussing his video. So it is all correct.

You do have Shockwave lights installed per manual?

Use mine they work perfect!, It took me a couple of nights just trying to get them to look nice...

Eastern600.jpg

Just copy and paste each section in the config file of each aircraft.... they are different aircraft to aircraft due to the difference in size. therefore you need a configuration for each plane...

Thanks Chemanuel, will give these a try, keeping my fingers crossed.

Techno.

You are editing the panel.cfg file so the shockwave lights work, right?

Something like this:

[VCockpit01]

gaugeXX=shockwave_lights!SW Lights, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light

Just a heads up since I see that you're newer around here, you have to sign your real name to your posts.

No, you edit the aircraft.cfg file for each plane...open it go down to the lights section and then paste these values... you don't have to do anything on shockwave, just install the program and copy the values as explained.

values for 800's and 900's are the same...with or without winglets...

I can access to my aircraft.cfg right now but if you want those settings drop me a pm and I will handle it later.
