November 13, 201213 yr for FSX obviously, which planes will work with 2 pilots? And im assuming you have to be on a gamespy server in fsx muliplayer mode. -I tried the feelther/wilco A320 last night with a friend. FAILED miserably. Has anyone tried the feelthere CRJ? Jerad Burns
November 13, 201213 yr I know that the LSH MD-82 (Maddog) has a shared cockpit functionality. It's a very advanced and complete simulation of the MD-82. Great addon, it is infact my second favorite flightsim addon, only beaten by VATSIM I believe the Digital Aviation Fokker 70/100 addon also has a shared cockpit feature. It is also a very advanced addon. I've heard people call it the Maddog of the Fokker 70/100 series. I havent tried it myself tho The Lotussim L39 Albatros also has shared cockpit functionality. vatsim s3
November 13, 201213 yr As wims80 stated, for full shared cockpit you will have to go for either Maddog or Fokker 70/100. The Fokker does not have a Virtual cockpit. I have been flying the Maddog for several years now, and the Shared cockpit is amazing..you can see every switch your partner moves, you can even see every letter being typed in the FMC. The full thing is shared, it is a great experience. Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
November 13, 201213 yr (1) "MOST" planes work in Shared Cockpit. The exceptions are very Complex planes, like the PMDG 737NGX. However, many of the new, 'advanced" planes, like (for example), The DUKE Turbine, are 100% Shared Cockpit Compatible. (2) There is NO SUCH THING as a "Gamespy FSX SERVER" Gamespy does not HOST FSX servers. Those with FSX "Host" FSX server, and players can connect to them , either by DIRECT IP, or by looking on Gamespy, that acts as a simple way to connect to any Server, that is announcing it's presence on the Gamespy list of FSX servers. (3) If you, and a friend want to fly in shared cockpit, using FSX, the either: (a.) Both you you have to join an existing FSX server, with one setting his aircraft open for sharing. or (b.) One you you Host their own FSX Server session, and the other joins. (Either Gamespy announced, or by Direct IP), with one setting his aircraft open for sharing. --- If you have not tried Shared cockpit before, you might want to try initially with one of the Stock MS FSX planes, to get the procedures sorted, before attempting more complex planes, that may, or may not be fully Shared Cockpit Compatible.
November 13, 201213 yr Author If you have not tried Shared cockpit before, you might want to try initially with one of the Stock MS FSX planes Im not interested in any Defalut FSX planes, infact I have almost all of them deleted so I can broswe for my addon planes faster. I have tried shared cockpit before, but I learned that the plane I was using wasn't going to work because half the switches turned for both of us, and the FMC we both had to do it at the same time, and it was just a mess lol. November 13, 201213 yr Which version of the LSH to get? Standard or Pro? I have plenty of airplanes but am interested in learning how an MD-80 operates

November 13, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hello guys, I've been flying shared cockpit for about 4 years now. In fact, made two shared cockpit flights on VATSIM today. The only stable shared cockpit commercial airliner is the Leonardo Maddog MD-80, and you'll want the 2010 Professional version. The Fokker only has a 2D flight deck and does not have as stable a session as the Leonardo Maddog. The IRIS F-15E Mudhen (left unfinished by IRIS) is also shared cockpit, but not stable. The PIlot version of the Majestic Dash 8 Q400 will also be shared cockpit when released (thank the OVPA working with the developer for that) and the FS Labs A320 Professional is rumored to be shared cockpit but no news from them on this for a some time. PMDG tried to get shared cockpit working for the NGX, and were not able to - a great disappointment to many people. There is A LOT to learn before achieving a stable interface/session in the Maddog, and even more to learn on top of that. It's well worth the time, it's the highest level of realism one can achieve, especially on VATSIM and especially during a VATSIM event. Check out the OVPA here on AVSIM for more information. Please note that the Maddog is probably one of the most complex and systems intensive aircraft you'll fly for FSX (as of this writing), and it's not an aircraft many can jump right into a fly. For this reason, we take people up in the aicraft (sim) to get them familiar with it. I'll say this again... check out the OVPA here on AVSIM. It's a group that specializes in flying Shared Cockpit on VATSIM. Wish you well in your pursuit of Shared Cockpit, it's FANTASTIC. November 13, 201213 yr the lvd 767 is a shared cockpit as well Peter, to what degree is it shared cockpit? do you have to each program the fmc and press the switches? is it connected via TPC/IP? or is it the same degree of the LSH MD-82? Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
November 13, 201213 yr Author Who told you that LD767 can be used in shared cockpit .... Pete did ^ lol the lvd 767 is a shared cockpit as well Jerad Burns

November 13, 201213 yr Will the 747X work from PMDG? I noticed the baro on the pilots and co-pilots are not linked, so I wonder if that's why.
