Holy Smokes.

You guys are REALLY something.

Has anyone tried any of the feelthere Jets with shared cockpit?

-CRJ nextgen 700-900-1000

-ERJs

-E Jets

What about the Flight1 Citation Mustang?

(Please let me know if anyone knows if these jets work.)

I have already answered all your questions.

FYI:

Dodosim Bell 206: can be shared, but it is complex, difficult and unstable... not shared really!

Katana DA20-100 4X: not shared

I would be very happy to be told that I'm wrong and if so, please provide step-by-step instructions (proof!)

Cheers!

Peter, to what degree is it shared cockpit? do you have to each program the fmc and press the switches? is it connected via TPC/IP? or is it the same degree of the LSH MD-82?

been awhile since i have done it but one person is selected as the fo while the other is co pilot etc while the pilot flies the aircraft while the co pliot does the switches etc if i remembr right been long time since i have done it.

I BELIEVE there was some limited functions under FS9 when using Gates. To software.

Under FSX, the only third party aircraft that are shared cockpit capable are:

Leonardo Maddog (get the 2010 Professional Version)

Fokker 70 (2D only, not very stable)

IRIS F-15E (not very stable)

RealAir Turbine Duke (I think they're using default gauges...)

Coronado Beach 58 (Not touted as shared cockpit, GPS is switched)

Upcoming

Dash 8 Q400

FSL A320 (maybe)

FSL Concorde was supposed to be Shared Cockpit, but they couldn't get it to work. Hopefully they have it sorted for the A320.

PMDG tried to get shared cockpit to work for the NGX, but gave up. Never thought I'd see those lads give up...

Is that a final statement on the NGX? The naive part of me was still hoping while I saw the official statements getting more and more vague over time. So I couldn't tell if there was a clear yes or no. Hence my question. Did I miss a clear 'no'?

The Maddog still rules. So far ahead of its time. Great plane! By the way, Dave. I saw you giving a lot of advice on the shared cockpit topic. Thanks for that.

I have already answered all your questions.

So you have already tried flying the Flight1 Citation X with a second pilot?

And the feelthere CRJ NGX doesnt work either??

My pleasure. We're working hard to create a Shared Cockpit community in order to get more developers interested in this marvelous genre of flight sim.

Agree completely about the Maddog - way, way, way a head of it's time.

Yeah, sad news on the NGX. A sliver of hope on SP3, but the gauges are what they are and PMDG isn't likely to go back and rewrite all that.

Ok, since you keep begging for it.

Not the double face palm!!!!

Anyway I hope more developers can make shared cockpits happen. I think the realism goes up exponentially with it and VATSIM.

Must be the most underrated feature in the flight sim biz by the way. Shared cockpit.

DUDE Flight1 Mustang seriously!?? That thing even has seperate 2D panels for both Captain & F/O... aww thats terrible. im guna have to test it out and then have a word with the developers.......

Jared, the F1 Mustang doesn't work (well) in the shared cockpit aspect. That's a highly detailed gauge setup which may not be coded to allow the shared stuff.

However, If you ask, you may receive this answer. Please read and watch with :P in mind. :Peace: I just like the scene so much.

I think the thread shows that the planes allowing for a flawless shared cockpit operation are either default ones, specially tuned builds or just.. non existent.

On the Mustang, here's a definitive answer from a dev. Not like the video, don't worry. http://mustang.fligh...sts.asp?TID=267

As one who has been a proponent and user of SC for years, I'd like to point out that many planes are SC compatible, just not FULLY functional. With the exception of ones mentioned already, it's usually those with an FMC that have limited functions, but you can still join and share the cockpit. I have experimented with every addon I have and except for Captain Sim (you cant join at all), we have found ways to fly together although not every plane has every function available, and it does take some experimenting to see what works and what doesnt.

One of my favorites is the Eaglesoft CJ1 (version 1, havent tryed V2 since it has an updated FMC).

RealAir Turbine Duke (I think they're using default gauges...)

Far from it. The Duke Turbine gauges are HD, 3D Custom Gauges that up there with the best you will ever see in FSX.

The Maddog still rules. So far ahead of its time. Great plane! By the way, Dave. I saw you giving a lot of advice on the shared cockpit topic. Thanks for that.

So far ahead of its time and STILL not FSX native. Epic fail. If they ever made a real FSX version it'd get a lot more sales...
