Great stuff! I love all the comments, 'why can't Boeing bring it out to us'. Ha, that's like asking why the wont make a home version of a B2 bomber!

Sure looks like MSFS, not even using any add-ons either. My guess is it's P3D.

From Boeing itself:

Flight simulators have been in existence almost as long as the airplane itself. But the latest visual technology available on Boeing’s Constant Resolution Visual System (CRVS) takes flight simulation to the verge of reality. The new CRVS technology was on display this week at the 2012 Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference in Orlando.

Why suppose it's either FS or P3D?

Why suppose it's either FS or P3D?

Because the visual fidelity is reminiscent of FSX, IMHO. The lighting model is very bland and the art style reminds me of FSX object and texture modeling.

Nope, not FSX nor P3D. Remember you are looking at the sim that was taken by another camera, and not through the eyes of the pilot in the simulator. A big difference.

You don't actually know that to be fair. That's just your conjecture. Nothing in the article alludes to it being FSX/P3D based or otherwise.

I could believe that it is based on FSX/P3D, from the visuals.

So you think Lockheed Martin makes a simulator for its fiercest competitor, Boeing? I don't think so!

My son who worked at LM, but not associated with P3D, was aware of this simulator, and it is not based on FSX nor P3D.

I'm not sure how someone who doesn't work for Boeing knows what the base software for this simulator is any better than the rest of us...

Or someone who knows someone who works at Boeing is certainly possible I would say.

Fair enough. Still looks like FSX to me ;)

The new sim in the article is not new software, it is new projectors running at UHD (ultra high def) 4k and 8k displays are supposed to give off perfect 20/20 images no different than looking at real life.

It doesn't look the least bit like FSX to me. I do a lot of flying down at that altitude, and have spent a lot of time looking at scenery.
