A Little Prayer for all the Victims and Families in Connecticut

The song is still being played on major radio stations. I've never heard of any outrage over the song and you can be sure the NAACP has reviewed it. I certainly have never heard any comments from friends that are of African descent.

What a shame, one person killed and 3 more wounded... I imagine this would have turned out differently if that home owner hadn't had a gun. Tragic to see a life lost at such a young age, my condolences to the family. Another life too many lost at the hands of a gun. [or any weapon really, not a gun in particular but in this case a gun.]

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles police have arrested a man for allegedly setting a 67-year-old woman on fire as she was sleeping on a bus bench.

Authorities say the man, who is in his 20s, was arrested Thursday. His name was not immediately released.

Police say the attack occurred shortly after midnight outside a drugstore. A witness said he saw a man come out of the store and pour something on the woman before striking a match and setting her ablaze.

The woman, who may be homeless, was taken to a hospital and listed in critical condition.

Last week, a 55-year-old man was set on fire as he slept outside a doughnut shop in southern Los Angeles County. No one has been arrested.

Now those are the stories that happen and major media doesn't report on it. You know I saw the other day CNN reporting gun crimes in other countries on their US front page? They are trying to flood the market as much as possible but luckily our politicians aren't buying into the hype.

Sincerely,

Chase

This guy (Samuel Williams) is a hero, as far as I'm concerned! :Applause:

Agreed, but he needs to spend more time at the range and get a bigger caliber since they got away from him.

Sorry I took so long to respond...I was in the bush in New Zealand over these holidays

to Fitz505, I never apologize because this is a perfect example of 'political correctness' that is ridiculous....Thank-you PSOLK for recognizing this one...

I was born in 1971 by a mother born in New Jersey.....I come from that culture....To you Fitz505, I have nothing to say to you

P.S. Psolk.....You're Welcome....Cheers :good:

Happy New Year to Avsim and everyone that posted in this thread, let's hope we have a quiet, safe and healthy year :Peace:

Ditto, Flash. You're a doll.

We have each thought long and hard about this massacre and about the merits of each of the opinions expressed. We have each thought long and hard about the possible reasons behind it, and about the consequences of not understanding what they are.

In fact, we have thought so long and hard that as the emotion of shock and awe drains, the relief makes us want to move on, to let this horror fade way. It's as if the whole memory is a game we can turn off and forget about, until we start it up again. It isn't!

If you are still interested in thinking and pondering this matter, please take a few minutes and hear what Lt. Col Dave Grossman, West Point Psychology Professor and Professor of Military Science has to say. He is considered one of the nation’s foremost experts on PTSD and is a scholar in the field of human aggression and the roots of violent crime.

Please listen to him before dismissing what he has to say. If there was ever a compelling analysis of what is happening to us, this is it, imho. What do you think?

Kind regards,

Kind regards,

Great interview :drinks:

I agree that it's an insightful interview, too bad it's Glenn Beck doing it. I know Glenn has little credibility with the mainstream media. I hope that Lt. Col Grossman can get on someone else's show, he makes some interesting arguments and he is an authority on this subject.

I know Glenn has little credibility with the mainstream media.

Glenn Beck has little credibility with the "lamestream media" because he gets into things that are contrary to the elite liberal media agenda.

Just like this interview. This is not part of the liberal agenda... so why should do they do any interviews with someone that speaks to the truth of the matter... how violence is graphically imprinted... even rewarded in the minds of our youth.

Having served a number of years in the military and law enforcement... I know this guy is speaking to the heart of the matter. In Law Enforcement these "trainers" are known as "Shoot / No-Shoot" Scenarios to build condition response.

A lot of talk about banning guns... But who is talking about banning video "games" that are essentially what this Lt. Col Grossman calls "murder simulators".

He's right... it is not the guns. The incredible violence on t.v. and many video games on such young, impressionable minds. "Garbage in -> garbage out" except in this case it is "murder / massacre in -> massacre out".

Thanks for posting Stephen.
