December 23, 201213 yr In the United States there are about 790 A2x flying actually: Operators (numbers approx.) USAirways : 236 United: 152 Delta 126 Jetblue 125 Frontier 58 Virgin A 52 Spirit 42 Air Canada has 89 So that makes a grand total US/Canada of about 900 . And we had counted something more then 900 737 NG flying in Europe. So, I would say we are about quits ! Guy
December 23, 201213 yr I was kinda hoping for an entertaining Airbus vs Boeing flamefest here.. so far no luck. i9 9900k - 32 gb RAM @ 3200mhz - 2070 RTX 8gb
December 23, 201213 yr I was kinda hoping for an entertaining Airbus vs Boeing flamefest here.. so far no luck. A good thing, surely. I love both planes, for their own merits. Having great versions of both in the sim now in just fantastic. Happy days!
December 23, 201213 yr It boils down to economics. Currency and leasing terms are what makes airlines decide, not brand or nationality. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
December 24, 201213 yr Airbus offers better deals, that's about it. Much cheaper than Boeing, they offer FCOMs, cheaper maintenance due to contracts, etc. Plus, they're modern and economic. The only thing that's true in this post is much cheaper list price. But only because Airbus makes sure to undercut Boeing for their European airlines. It is not cheaper maintenance, not more modern and not more economical.

December 24, 201213 yr I was kinda hoping for an entertaining Airbus vs Boeing flamefest here.. so far no luck. No, i won't do that but i will provide an impartial umpires decision. Normally we would use Switzerland for this purpose, but it doesn't work for bus vs boeing cos switzerland is, im pretty sure, in europe. So i declare australia to be the neutral party in this europe vs us contest. Methodology: I flew qantas today and did check their inflight magazine for fleet stats. Results: Turns out that they have not many buses - a few A320s and the A380s that they bought thinking that big planes woild impress the punters but which are now mainly famous in oz for uncontained engine failures. So thirty airbuses total. The significant majority of the fleet is boeing - 717, 737 (most popular), 767, 777. I think about 80% of the planes (was too lazy to do the maths). Except - if you choose to fly Qantas's rubbish budget offshoot, Jetstar. Then it's 100% airbuses. Conclusion: boeing is expensive but worth the money. Airbus is what you get if you pay pennies. Airbuses are also bad because they usually lose your luggage. Conflicts of interest declared: yeah...nah, none really. Oz Sim Rig: MSI RTX3090 Suprim, an old, partly-melted Intel 9900K @ 5GHz+, Honeycomb Alpha, Thrustmaster TPR Rudder, Warthog HOTAS, Reverb G2, Prosim 737 cockpit. Currently flying: MSFS: PMDG 737-700, Fenix A320, Leonardo MD-82, MIlviz C310, Flysimware C414AW, DC Concorde, Carenado C337. Prepar3d v5: PMDG 737/747/777. December 24, 201213 yr If I recall correctly Norwegian Air Shuttle has one of the longest 737-800 routes in the world to Dubai as well. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Eric
