ORBX World is here!

Featured Replies

I still enjoy flying VFR in the ORBX Regions.

When I fly the Citation Mustang or 737NGX I use GEX textures.

I can't wait for FTX global to be released. I'm looking forward to the improved night lighting and ORBX textures for the entire world.

While I love Orbx products, I am not that interested in getting FTX Global. It takes me ages to finish exploring one region and to be honest the only one I have thoroughly explored is Pacific Fjords (absolutely loved it!). Currently meandering through NZSI while Australia mostly remains unexplored except for Tassie, Victoria and New South Wales. PNW I have mostly explored around 50% I would say. And now there is SAK which I really want and will get soon.  While it would be great for the long rangers (Jets, Miltary, Tubes) to have great global Orbx quality textures - for the low and slow crowd there's already too much too explore - which is great. So I hope Orbx keeps churning out detailed regional areas of high quality  .

To me FTX global seems linked to their collaboration with P3D and enhancing that platform also the ability to sell more airports that can be developed anywhere rather than only for regions which have long lead development times.

I think FTX Global is not for exploring like dedicated ORBX areas. VFR & IFR visual experience will certainly be a lot better over default FSX textures and that's the whole point, step closer to photo real stuff.

Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

No I think ftx global is just to make it look a lot nicer with textures  it will not be as detailed as the regions.

The regions have landclass, roads, coastlines, upgraded airports, lots of landmarks and photoreal areas.

I'm betting it will become the base texture pack for V2.
