LOL - epic dredge but a good Q - what's happened to B744 V2? There is nothing on the forums - no discussions, no excitement, nothing......

A year ago it was 50% complete? Perhaps PMDG canned this one altogether?

Or maybe they'll do a Beyoncé and it'll just appear!

(You know, that chick that released her album and didn't tell anyone lol)

That'd be pretty awesome.

One day: quiet avsim

Next day: OMG EPIC PMDG 787 RELEASE HAS HAPPENED ALREADY!

(cue avsim forum meltdown)

THEY BROKE THE INTERNET!

It's because impatient people WANT ALL TEH PLANEZ!!!

and they WANT THEM NOW!!!

B777-300ER Yesterday!

B747-400 TOMORROW!!!

B777-200ER NEXT WEEK!

B747-400ER NEXT MONTH!!!

B767-300ER BY SUMMER!!!!

B787 For CHRISTMAS! (and they will winge about it in August about why isn't it here yet!)

And this photo from airliners.net taken from the cockpit door shows that the angle between the window post and the MCP glareshield is wrong in that preview screenshot from the Captains seat in FSX! FIX IT NOW!!!!

IT WASN'T AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE TODAY! SO NOW I WILL NEVER BUY IT EVAR!

(And in the thread below, there's a post from the same user saying they can't get the autopilot to work. But they havn't entered any info into the FMC or alligned the IRS.)

I am one of the "few" impatient ones :)

Oh btw, I am also impatiently to get hands on NLS A380 .... hopefully that should be out by next week (sigh)

Please no!!!! No request for the B744V2!!! Do not want to see "The PMDG B744V2 will be released concurrently with the PMDG B777X SP1 and B777-300ER"!!!!!! No ideas for the development team please!

haha - yeah, that's totes gonna happen.  The last time we had members in the forum requesting something, they dispensed with their development schedule, threw caution to the wind and released the NGX for FS9...

...oh wait...

Pretty soon, people will be asking PMDG to make planes that don't even exist yet in the RW lol.

They've been asking about 737 MAX for a while now... :)

How is it ridiculous? It's not been more than couple of months since the last release...

I wanna hear you say that when we're 3 years into development and still don't have it :P

Wrong person mate. Not that you care, but i can wait because i have more stuff to do in life than to wait for development of aircraft. Besides, i have more than enough to enjoy already.

1: I didn't realise you were in the PMDG development team.

2: Wrong person MATE not that YOU care, but I was responding to a post from 17 months ago.

See how I referred to these "people that complain" as "Them", which means, you know... people that DO complain and feel like they DO NOT have more than enough to enjoy already.

So I can happily say wrong person mate. 1: I'm Australian and we typically say mate. 2: you seem to have missed the whole point of what I was saying... 17 months ago.

No, i'm not and i used "we're" because we as the community are waiting for it one way or another.

And i replied now because i re-read the thread from the start and only now noticed the replies to my posts. Accidentally we're still in the same place regarding the 747 (no news at all), so it's not 17 months old, it's still now.

I don't know what's the problem here.

1: I'm Australian and we typically say mate.

Lucky you, you live in the best place in the world. Now you made me jealous (not being ironic).

When we are 3 years after the release of last major product, then you might have a point. Releasing two major products in the same category (i.e. two iconic long-range Boeing jetliners with similar level of technology inside) is, bluntly said, stupid.

QoS was released in 2006. MD-11 in 2008. NGX in summer 2011, 777 in late summer 2013. Expecting the 747 sooner than summer 2014 is not realistic - it would be financially unsound. With a late release of 77W I would even venture a guess that we won't be seeing it until 2015.

Rob has told us a few times now in posts that they are trying to streamline the process in place to speed things up for future releases. So although as with PMDG policy the v2 will be released when she is ready, hopefully it will be sometime this year.

Also on the subject of releasing the 777 and 747 close together. I don't think this is likely to be a problem. Unfortunately the queen of the skies is an ageing girl now and has such a big fan base,so most of us will want her just to keep her in the skies ourselves and the 777 is such a great aircraft so widely used by airlines that most if not more are going to want her in the hanger.

I know I personally am looking forward to the 77W as I fly for BAV and so will be able to more accurately complete routes, but I can't wait for the 747 v2. I'm not sure how I will divide time between the two but I'm damm sure going to manage it somehow.

Not trying to make any point here, just SIMPLY saying that the wait time is ridiculous, so people should NOT worry about it, instead use what they have and enjoy life, so when it comes, it comes.

And that's what started all this: Me saying i just don't care anymore, when it's out i'll decide if i need it (probably will) and purchase or not.

There is a very big section that would buy only one. People who don't have that much money to set aside. People who don't have that much time to set aside. Such so.

Keeping them separated makes more people buy one or the other. I can say for myself - if it looked last summer that 747 might really be ready by Christmas or so, I would have never bought the 777.

Yes I get that Fabo. I'm not saying people will buy both straight away as soon as they are released. I'm saying most will buy them both eventually, either when released or once they have the money. I don't think in the big picture of things PMDG will lose many sales, maybe some immediately after release sales but all us hardcore simmers will come back due to the top quality we can't get elsewhere for these specific aircraft.

Gents-

You really need to stop attacking one another over things you cannot control...

Please- we are all here because we enjoy simming-  please dispense with the bickering.
