Carenado Cirrus SR22 Released!

Featured Replies

After more searching, I have discovered that it's not possible to enter in multiple, consecutive waypoints directly into the G1000 in the SR22. It needs to be done through the FSX built in flight planner. That's OK though. This aircraft is beautiful to look at and lots of fun to fly. It has a lot to offer. You get the simplicity of GA yet it has many features found only in larger planes. (I guess that's why I was hoping to be able to emulate fms programming here too.) I think you get the best of both worlds here.

One thing I've found really useful is the traffic monitoring in the MFD map (TAWS). It helps me verify and assess the density of air traffic I've configured, and allowed me to test, for instance, the ORBX freeware NA GA traffic add-in (only works with ORBX scenery) to see what its config options are doing.

The RealAir Lancair is far more "alive," but I find myself continuing to fly the SR22 a lot.

I put a 2D popup of the RXP 530W in my cirrus. Then I added the linkgps=on in the .ini so I can get RNAV waypoints on the G1000.

Thanks for this...I don't own RXP, yet! I will probably give this a shot soon. I see your earlier posts about it. I assume it's just adding a few lines into the ini or aircraft.cfg files? Thanks again.

Yep, once you have it installed (to get the popup I just run the RXP config program), then add the line in the RXP.ini - which sits in the Carenado cirrus folder.

This will probably sound pretty stupid but, how do you open the popup for this afterwards? Thanks again,,,

Thanks....Purchased the 530, installed and created a flight plan and the legs are showing up on the MFD. Sweet! I will try a flight later and see how it goes. Thanks for everyone's help.

I have  a T Flight Hotas joystick and have been trying to map the hat switch to the rudder and pitch trim without success. Can someone tell me if this is possible?

Pilots: Looking down on people since 1903.

I got the trim issue with the hat switch sorted out by using fsuipc.....

You could also consider the Flight1 Cessna Citation Mustang, a VLJ that features decent visuals, jet engines, and a solid G1000 simulation. It too bridges the gap between commercial aviation and GA.
