Wow—it looks fun to fly, particularly on short scenic flights!

I have always found the side stick of the SR22 to be very interesting, but would imagine that it would be uncomfortable to use at such an angle.

It's technically not considered a stick, but a side yoke... and It's actually MORE comfortable than a standard yoke. It's very ergonomic and very natural to use. You'll never want to use a standard yoke again!

The double MFD's would seem to be a considerable frame rate hit I would guess, especially flying ORBX. Waiting for more input from the ones that jumped in and bought it.

Looking at the Facebook page, a lot of people are complaining :(

Can someone reccomend or not for me please? Obvs answer OP's answer, but, i don't know, i wanted this but after all the complaints i'm not so sure :/ I already own the Rockwell Commander 114, so, any comparason to that would be excellent :)

Just purchased the SR22. Install and purchase were easy as usual. The details on it are awesome which seems to be the norm for Carenado these days. I flew it around in Orbx PNW with Orbx KHQM and Rex Ess+ with heavy clouds, fog, and rain. FPS were in the 23-28FPS range and a solid 30 with no rain or fog. I don't have the most powerful machine in the world for FSX so if it performs like this on mine, it will be good for pretty much everybody else.

I wish they would give us better looking pilots though, a female co-pilot would be dandy

Andy, I went to the facebook page and could not find any complaints. Are you sure these complaints you speak of are not for another Carenado plane possibly.

Hi,

What areas of ORBX where you flying near? [edit] sorry, I just saw KHQM. Have you flown around the KSEA area?

Sounds Great! But, a few things :

The complaints were :

No flight planning in A/C

checklist says FULE instead of FUEL

Not fully functional

Lots of bugs

Just a default Garmin 1000 with a tiny bit more

Avionics are Shoddy

Do you agree with these and are they major problems? Do you own the RC 114?

Hi, sorry I did not see those. I wonder what "Not fully functional" and "Avionics are Shoddy" mean exactly. I guess I would need to hear a little more detail.

I only flew it around for 10 minutes to check the FPS so I can't speak to the functions of the G1000. To be honest, I didn't expect this G1000 to any more functional than the C182T which I also have. Does it bother me? Not really. I fly Carenado planes when I just want to jump in and fly around for a bit without worrying about programming an FMS or diving into systems just to start the plane and get going. I have the PMDG MD-11, NGX, JS41, and, to a lesser extent, the QW 146 for that.

As this is also the first release, I also expect it to be buggy so some of the things mentioned, (FULE instead of FUEL for example) are expected. it would be nice if it were as functional as the G1000 in the F1 Mustang but again, I see Carenado's as eye candy so, at least for now, its fine for my purposes.

Sorry, not direct Quotes. Herre are the real ones actually typed:

" $35 is worth complaining about for a product that isnt fully functioning and has bugs"

"They do not model more things than other developers. Not even close. The physical model looks great but who cares about that when the actual functionality is crippled? I miss the old Carenado aircraft. They simply aren't cut out for these complex modern planes."

"Carenado will not see a purchase from me. Not worth 35 to me. MAYBE 15. I want to see functionality, not just something that looks good."

"Yeah, what both of you said they slapped the default G1000 into a nice SR-22 Model and added a few things to the G1000 to make it cirrus-like"
