January 24, 201313 yr So I sometimes lose the textures after flying for awhile, leaving me with just the bare model in an odd color. I assume this is just a memory issue? The .dds files are all 4096, should I be constantly checking fsx.cfg by hand before startup to make sure TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096, or is this more likely a bug in need of memory optimization or fixing? Also notice that the Aircraft Change model screen background goes blank for a few seconds when I choose the SR22 after startup, only one of my add-on planes that does that.... related?

The .dds files are all 4096, should I be constantly checking fsx.cfg by hand before startup to make sure TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096, or is this more likely a bug in need of memory optimization or fixing? I believe it is a memory issue. On my previous computer, a 2008 Apple iMac, my PMDG B747 would become black, gray, or shiny gray when using McPhat Studios high-definition repaints at full quality (TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096). Fewer texture-loading errors occurred when I set the texture max load setting to 2048. If you want to see high-definition textures, you must change the texture max load setting to 4096 each time after you make display setting changes from within FSX. You could try setting it to 2048 to see whether it helps. What are your computer specifications?
January 24, 201313 yr If you aren't using it already, the highmemfix=1 entry in the fsx.cfg is highly recommended. It doesn't alter anything other than the memory management of the sim. By this, it allows you to run demanding addons for longer. Means without reverting back to lost textures or a flying skeleton.
January 24, 201313 yr I made a 2D popup of the RXP 530W. The A/P flies the legs as it normally would, and the CDI on GPS mode will slew to correct course. I wonder if you turned Link on in the rxp .ini if the G1000 would display the pink legs on the MFD? I don't have that command nor do I know where it goes... Where is Bert when you need him? Hmmmmm. Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
January 24, 201313 yr I wish that the TBM won't have this G1000 version but rather a setup with Garmin GNS which can be replaced with the RXP gauges. These gauges make every GA Addon shine. The visual quality of Carenado, paired with a good flight model and the RXP GNS is a fantastic and immersive experience (I.e. the C337 or the KingAir and P46T) +1 B) I wonder if you turned Link on in the rxp .ini if the G1000 would display the pink legs on the MFD? I don't have that command nor do I know where it goes... Where is Bert when you need him? Hmmmmm. Ray LinkGPS=on goes in the GNS530 section of the rxpgns.ini file for the airplane Bert

Add the following line to the RXPGNS.INI file in the airplane's folder: LinkGPS=On At least it worked for me in their 182T. I haven't tried, but I doubt you'll get the glideslope indication in the PFD if you try doing an LPV approach. Barry Friedman
January 24, 201313 yr Potential buyer here, is the visual quality in and out on par with their 182T? Also, based on you guys' opinions, would this, or the B200 be a better buy?

Core2Duo, 9800GX2 1GB, 2GB RAM (so the highmem thing wouldn't do me any good, CoolP). I've managed to get even the 737 NGX running on this thing, just have to avoid taking it to parties in NYC on New Year's Eve..... guess I'll fly the SR22 around Champaign, IL and hope for a memory optimization or new computer. It does sound like there are memory issues, even with current i7-based computers, plus the engine sound loop issue and I noticed today fiddling around with the MFD that it is indeed the Carenado C-182 Garmin imported into this plane. Feels like some lazy mistakes. It's key to release software when it's ready, not just when you need money. Bad software stays bad forever if you're not careful. This is so close to being wonderful, though, so I hope Carenado puts in a fix effort! And updates the MFD to at least say SR22 on the setup page so I can fool myself.
January 25, 201313 yr I got the rxp ini working. Shows legs on mfd. haven't checked LPV approaches yet. The king air 200 and this are totally different. January 25, 201313 yr The parachute would probably have to be part of the .mdl Also I can't get the glide path to show on the PFD... so that doesn't work with RXP. But the waypoints from the RXP show up on the G1000 (both pfd and mfd) in text and on the mfd as legs on the map... so I'm fairly happy now. Just wish the sounds were a little better. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
January 25, 201313 yr I got the rxp ini working. Shows legs on mfd. Did you do anything to the exo.ini to display legs on the mfd? can you post that setting here please? I'll try it on the 182 Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
January 26, 201313 yr I should clarify when I wrote that... I meant legs (as a visual representation) on the main MFD... not legs spelled out in the FPL page.... All I did was run the RXP config program for the Cirrus, stuck in the GNS530W. Then after that I went into the rxp.ini found inside of the Carenado Cirrus folder, and added LinkGPS=on under the GNS530 section | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
January 28, 201313 yr Author I've been flying this bird around Orbx PNW for the past couple of days and one thing is proving really annoying in my screenshots, those bloody pilots. Can someone please tell Carenado that women fly planes too and it would be nice to have at least 1, preferably 2 women piloting their planes instead of those rejects from the Village People. It would make my screenshots so much nicer. Just saying......... Chris Magnus HR Manager Air Jamaica Virtual Airlines and Cargo (http://www.airjamaicavirtualairlinesandcargo.org)
