February 9, 201313 yr I realize this has been out for some time now but I would love to buy it since I live in St Louis and work at Boeing which is on the north side of the airport. The reason I'm asking here is that it appears they have stopped giving any support unless you've already purchased and provide a serial #.There were some FPS issues that I believe were solved and an issue with cars crossing over the new runway instead of thru a tunnel under it. Thanks Steve Steve Corzine
February 9, 201313 yr Im confused on your question... And yes they probably ONLY provide support to those who have a legit serial number.. Why shouldn't they? Should they provide support for people who "stole" the scenery???

Thanks Steve I bought it about a week after it came out and it performs well on my older rig when used with the NGX and full AI. Although when flying tubes I turn the car traffic of to save some FPS so I cant speak to cars crossing over the runways since i've never seen it happen. Also, even when AI is at 100% there isn't a whole lot of traffic at that hub anymore, so sometimes it seems like a rather baren airport. All in all, when comparing it to airports from the likes of FSDT and FlyTampa, I would give it a score of 7.5 out of 10. If you work at the airport and have an emotional attachment to that hub I would suggest getting it. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
February 9, 201313 yr cmpbellsjc, I was not aware of this scenery. I visited their web page and the screen shots look good, but not excellent. I have the Newport photo real St Louis and the Rhett Browning freeware scenery that enhances the airport and adds the 11/29 runway. However I also have UTX and due to the fact that the Browning 11/29 does not integrate with it I get a steady stream of car/truck traffic across the new runway. It's likely traffic on Lindberg, which I believe is a tunnel under the new runway. Does this scenery in fact eliminate this car traffic issue? Do you have the Newport photo real St Louis scenery? If so, how well do the two integrate with each other? February 9, 201313 yr I have it and use it along with Newport Photo Real St Louis (I'll be getting rid of that if and when MSE V2 Missouri is released). I do not see any anomalies. It looks like a well done airport. If there are cars running over the road instead of through a tunnel, I haven't seen it. I don't think FSX has the capability to allow cars and trucks to go under a tunnel in any scenery. That aspect of FSX is not very realistic but it does give some sense of reality from a distance. Best regards, Jim If so, how well do the two integrate with each other? Since I have the Newport Photoreal scenery I'll comment too. If you keep the airport above the Newport Photoreal St Louis and that works. I'm not too excited about the freeway traffic I see landing on 30L or 30R. The traffic seems to be going all over the place and, the winter textures (snow) cover the roads so much you can't see the pavement. Otherwise, the airport blends in well with the Newport scenery. Also I dont have any photo scenery for the area like JIm does, but as long as you set the airport scenery layer above the photos scenery area, you should be fine. The scenery comes with its own photo real that covers the area inside of the airport boundry, so it will cover up anything that is mis-aligned from external photo scenery sources. On the subject of the car traffic crossing a runway or taxiway, I have seen that at a hand full of airports in the past, but since I dont run car traffic when flying tubes I can't say that I have had the problem with this airport, although Jim said he has not noticed a problem when he runs car traffic. It's not a bad looking airport graphically. I'd say it looks better than some of the Imaginesim and BluePrint stuff, but not as nice as FSDT or FlyTampa, that's why I said I would rate it a 7.5 out of 10. Truth is, no other developers like FSDT or FlyTampa will probably ever cover this airport, so if you want a pretty good rendition of KSTL, this is probably going to be your best bet next to either building your own or using AFCAD enhancements. February 9, 201313 yr The initial release was a frame rate killer, but Cesar from Txi2Gate was very responsive to customer feedback, and he quickly released a patch to correct the problem. I'm very happy with it. February 9, 201313 yr Moderator The initial release was a frame rate killer, but Cesar from Txi2Gate was very responsive to customer feedback, and he quickly released a patch to correct the problem. I'm very happy with it. He even made me a custom patch to get rid of the horrible looking blue taxi lights that could be seen from 5 miles on final. That patch can be found on their forum in a post made by me. Not sure if he included it in an official patch since some people might like those huge blue lights. POST EDIT: Just visited their forum and it appears that the old support topics where he posted this patch for me is now gone. If anyone wants it they will have to ask for it on their forum or by email. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
February 11, 201313 yr Author Im confused on your question... And yes they probably ONLY provide support to those who have a legit serial number.. Why shouldn't they? Should they provide support for people who "stole" the scenery??? Yes, you must be quite confused, although everyone else seemed to understand perfectly. I merely made a statement about their support policy to explain why I was asking here. And by the way, most other developers DO NOT adhere to this policy. February 11, 201313 yr Thanks Jim, I also have the Newport Scenery so that was very helpful. Have you noticed whether the Jetways are static or not? They can be activated only with AES - 3 credits. I just want to add to this as during my research, I could not find a manual for Taxigate KSTL so I discovered this on my own. I just happened to purchase AES credits for other airports last week and had not gotten to KSTL. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
