February 14, 201313 yr Hello! I am thinking about purchasing the Saitek trim wheel, but I'm worried about the clamp not working with my current desk setup. Does anyone think it might work if I ditch the clamp completely and just put the unit on top of the desk with velcro? I guess if the wheel resistance isn't too great, it may work? Thanks, Paul
February 14, 201313 yr No huge resistance, more of a 'twiddle'. So it would probably be OK. Don't destroy the clamp though..just in case. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
February 14, 201313 yr Commercial Member Yep, should be perfectly fine.... The wheel turns very easily... only light finger pressure needed really. I doubt you will have any problems. DeanManager - PC Aviator AustraliaRetailing Sim DVD Software, Downloads, Hardware and Accessories

February 14, 201313 yr that should work ....I screwed mine down with 4 drywall screws at a slight angle so that the heads clamp it down
February 14, 201313 yr I have mine screwed or velcroed (can't remember) to the top of the Multi-panel and beside the twin throttles. Now that I look, I added a small thin panel behind the trim wheel and used the Saitek screws to bind it to the throttle unit. May have velcro on the bottom. Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
February 14, 201313 yr I dont have the trim wheel but you could try to use "sticky pad", bestbuy has them for cell phones, they are about $5.00. I use 3 on my saitek yoke.
