Experience with Ariane addons?

Featured Replies

I just stumbled upon Arian Design Boeing 737 addons. Any good? They're quite pricy and with PMDG and iFLY out there I wondered who and why buy these?

Don't want to start anything here..my own opinion is just stick to PMDG or IFLY for a 737.

from what i've heard it can be very expensive to buy the Ariane 737 with the liveries.

Do a search here for Arian and you will get a lot of hits of which 99% of have nothing good to say about them, especially when it comes to activation. At one point, prior to the iFly and PMDG version comming out, they were the only ticket in town if you wanted an aftermarket -800 or similar, but since PMDG and iFly have released theirs sometime ago, there is really no reason to even consider Arian.

I'd stick with getting the PMDG (my first choice) or iFly.

Yeah their 737 is overpriced, basically before Ifly 737 and PMDG 737 came it was the best 737 around (and thus Ariane tried to earn extra money from those desperately looking for proper 737 simulation by overpricing their product). However nowadays there's absolutely no reason for anyone to buy it, it's below Ifly and PMDG standards, you have to pay for liveries, messy activation system and bad support. I wish I hadn't been so desperate for proper 737NG back then.

It's sad really, I bet if the guy behind Ariane had any sense of business he could have made a lot of money with it had the price been more reasonable and without such a horrible activation system. I'm pretty sure it didn't sell that good even back then before Ifly because of these things I mentioned...

There are also other reasons to avoid Ariane because of certain things in their history, but I think this is enough anyway.

Ariane ?... OMG I forgot about them..... that was probably the best 737 for fSX back in 2008/2009 but since iFly, and at a higher level PMDG released their NGX, you should not hesitate a second.... go PMDG. On top of that, Ariane is everything but reliable.... i believe the company is not operating anymore..... they haven't communicated for years....

too much, too soon....

Thanks guys! As soon as I heard the word activation I was out anyway...

Yes, Ariane has been reduced to the status of a bad bar joke.

Bad experience only. Overpriced, no repaints available except for their own packages which cost some $$ again, and a ridicoulous activation process.

I only bought it, because I didn't know of Ariane's reputation, and back when I bought the 738, they were the only ones to offer a NG. Nowadays, as others have stated, it's nothing more than a bad joke IMHO. There's the NGX and the iFly, and there you really get what you pay for.

Why even consider another 737 when you have the PMDG NGX? No other developer can even make any simulation (Airbus or Boeing) that matches that kind of quality.

If someone did, you would have heard about it on Avsim, like, immediately.

iFly also has an excellent 737, but not the level of the NGX.

When you have the NGX and iFly, why do you even look anywhere else for NGs?

From what I understand, Milviz is making a 737 Classic that should be excellent. I also like the 737PIC Classic EVO by Feelthere.

If you're looking for a 737 with steam gauges, you can get Captain Sim's 737-100 or the one by JustFlight (Blackbox).

We're lucky to have a good selection of 737s available to us now, which we didn't a few years ago. But if you want the NG, just go with the NGX or, at least the iFly version. Both are real winners.

FSLabs A320 looks pretty promising already, and in terms of system quality Leonardo Maddog is easily just as good or even better than 737NGX.

And of course Majestic Dash 8 will be more advanced than anything seen before, it's not Airbus or Boeing though but still complex.

Actually they are making 737-200.

for the price you will pay to buy Ariane Designs 737, just buy the PMDG NGX. However the model and FDE on the Ariane 737 are very well done, also consider that the customer support is almost non existent and activation is garbage, many people here will agree with what I just said

Your right, it is another 737-200. That's ok, I'll have three than. Milviz makes some good quality aircraft, so this will be very good.

I was hoping for a new build on a top quality 737 Classic. Wishful thinking.

I agree that Leonard's Maddog is probably the closest thing to the NGX in system simulation, but their textures are a bit outdated, so really not fair to compare in that sense. But it is a super simulation. I love it.

I'm sure that Majestic's and FlightSim Labs products will be excellent, but they are not here yet, so it is difficult to judge.

I really thought that the AirbusX or Airsimmer's Airbus was going to be the NGX of the Airbus, but they went kaputzi.

Actually when Blackbox finishes their Airbus completely, it may be a contender also.

Don't even go there. Payed €89 and they never ever got around to even activating the thing for me, even with multiple emails. Not worth discussing.
