I mentioned it on the MSFlight page and to the guys on the MSFlights.net page.

What should we name it? My guess is Microsoft Flight- Aircraft Repaints, Textures and Modifications

What do you think?

I did also mention it in the FlightSim.com MS Flight forum. There is never very much going on there. Flight was never received with great fanfare there either, unlike Avsim.

It's time to turn it around. If we can manage to find a way to create high quality scenery, and more aircraft. Then maybe, they may come join us. We went from no SDK or Third Party Addons to 1. We can start to increase that.

I don't think anyone from the FSX community has seen this happen before. We are making history.

Part of the beta is to test and see what is working and what is not. I solved one problem, and another pops up. That's the point of trial and error. Thinking like a programmer, you will encounter a lot of these. My advice is to stay calm. You will figure out a solution eventually.

Also, I'm getting hyped up by the amount of optimism currently in this community. Unfortunately, with the high optimism comes at a price. The higher we rise, the farther we fall.

Stone, I believe I might have found a bug. If you try to overwrite a previously exported add-on package, it will cause the builder to crash. I have only tried this once, so I cannot confirm that this is an everytime thing.

EDIT: This may not actually be the problem. There was another issue that caused it to crash on export, although I'm not sure what it was...

EDIT 2: I'm thinking it has something to do with the interior textures. It crashed when trying to export a livery with interior textures. (Carbon Cub)

EDIT 3: I guess it's useful to fill in the information for the package. It would appear that with missing info, it crashes. :P

Actually... I think the Toolkit and Addon Manger are slow by default. I almost clicked too many times when installing your repaints, which almost caused it to crash.

I've also found it to be slow, but this is expected considering that it seems to have to uncompress a package to another directory. It only seems slow because there is no indication that it is doing something. The crash I had was an actual crash. (the program immediately gave a "Not Responding" message box. The difference between this and installing a livery as usual is that installing a livery simply causes the program to freeze, not crash.

Had an odd glitch when installing a new livery. When I clicked the check-box in addon manager to add the livery I received an immediate error ending with "FileLocator.config.backup already exists"

I tracked down FileLocator.config.backup and made it not exist. :P

Livery loaded fine after that.

Hey guys, if you run into bugs I would appreciate it if you email [email protected] with the repro steps. I'd like to try to fix as many crashing issues as possible, or at least replace them with warning messages.

As for the slowness, I am aware of that and have a task on my list to put in progress bars or spinners or something, but it is lower priority right now. I'd rather get adding models working first.

Appreciate the effort--great work so far. :)

That's the problem I have had. And your simple one step solution has worked well for me also. Thanks B)
