March 6, 201313 yr How recent is the downtown hk scenery from FlyTampa? Would combining Imagine Sim and Fly Tampa be the most realistic? FlyTampa VHHX was published in Jul 2008. Default scenery is older and has less details. So the combination should be the most realistic unless there is some newer city scenery around ... Not sure about this: Flightsoft Hong Kong FSX live. It's 70 Euros here in Europe ... What happened to AVSIM
March 6, 201313 yr I love Fly Tampa's Hong Kong add-on. It's my most used airport in Asia by far. Take off at the top of the hour after dark and you'll have a nice fireworks show to view as you fly out. Frame rates are generally pretty good. I notice a slight hit when all the massive buildings first come into view, but then it smooths out. The majority of the STAR's I use take me right over old VHHX when I fly into VHHH and it's very well depicted. Fly Tampa has some awesome scenery and you won't go wrong with this one. Chris Sunseri
March 6, 201313 yr I have both the Fly Tampa and Imagesim airports for Hong Kong. Both are excellent with no performance issues. Billy Bluestar I Earned My Spurs in Vietnam
March 6, 201313 yr Commercial Member NO-No-no... you guys have it all wrong. What you need to get is Flightsoft's Hong Kong FSX for only 80 bucks! That scenery was actually designed way back in the 1990's, back when Kai Tak was actually open  . What could be more realistic than a scenery that has been ported over to FS2000, FS2002, FS2004 and now FSX?!? In all seriousness, FlyTampa is the way to go for the overall excellence of the airport and the Hong Kong area. As said above, throw in Imaginsim to add the new airport and your all set... maybe add Macau and you got the region looking pretty darn good. March 6, 201313 yr Not only is the Fly Tampa VHHX an OUTSTANDING rendition, but most major aircraft addons have had someone make the relevant tweaks, in order to fly the wonderful IGS13 approach ;-) Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)
March 6, 201313 yr Currently enjoying FlyTampa's VHHX. Static aircraft only, but there is World of AI which will give route schedules to fly AI and support for My Traffic & one other program. Info is in FlyTampa's README. The IGS 13 approach is unique, comes with all the approach plates. There is a fix for the missing FMC data in PMDG and LEVEL-D aircraft for the old data. This is newest link. WWW.VAPAP.COM You must reinstall it after each Navigraph/ NavData Pro update. i love to hand fly the approach light lead-in lights to the final of 13. Rwy 31 has the old boring ILS. Enjoy. Pat Snyder KBDR " Ah Center, it appears that the problem is between the yoke and seat"
March 6, 201313 yr I just had a look a Flightsoft's NO-No-no... you guys have it all wrong. What you need to get is Flightsoft's Hong Kong FSX for only 80 bucks! As said above, throw in Imaginsim to add the new airport and your all set... maybe add Macau and you got the region looking pretty darn good. I never even heard of Flightsoft. I just had a look at it now, and it's got to be the most ridiculous piece of salesmanship ever. "The Aerosoft product clearly demonstrates many of the typical flaws associated with flight simulation scenery add-ons. The primary fault which we coin the “darkness paradigm” is due to the type and quality of imagery chosen for use in the popular add-ons for FSX, FS2004 and all previous versions of the commercially successful Microsoft franchise." "Certainly, if there was a way of turning the flash lights on or another way of putting it “turning the lights on” around the surfaces of the building structures then the Aerosoft/ Fly Tampa Hong Kong FSX scenery product would be a viable solution for the discerning flight simulation enthusiast. So how does FlightSoft turn the “flash lights on” in its Hong Kong FSX LIVE scenery? First of all, FlightSoft spared no expense in the purchase and license of the highest caliber commercially available satellite imagery for a PC flight simulation product. FlightSoft’s acquisition of licensed DigitalGlobe QuickBird© satellite imagery with its 60cm pan-sharpened ortho-rectified images became our highest priority and the first line of defense against the status quo in flight simulation scenery add-ons. By doing so we simply “ turned the lights on!”" Shrug.

Works with the default AI traffic airplanes, so there's no need to install extra AI aircraft packages. Can be combined with addon AI traffic flying in the same area during the same flightsim session. As mentioned in the above quote, solutions for addon AI traffic are available, too. What happened to AVSIM
