March 23, 201313 yr Thats great news ! I just bought a Nexus 7 for Apps like this, but dont tell the wife LOL Craig
March 23, 201313 yr Author Commercial Member I don't currently own X-Plane but I believe the API's all exist for me to get the same information. Maybe once I finish it up and if I earn enough money from the app on the appstore (currently thinking around 1.99 for the app) I'll be able to purchase X-Plane to add support. My wife and I have a new baby so my hobby funds are not what they used to be unfortunately.
March 24, 201313 yr <p>I'm running fsx sp 2 and a Google Nexus 10 if you want me to betatest. I've just re-taken on the art of vfr flight, mostly around norway... Let me know if you're interested...</p> <p> </p> <p>Mas</p> <p> </p> <p>Edit: woops, just read that you don't need any more testers - were will announce a release? This thread?</p> <p>Great work!</p> <p> </p> <p>Mas</p> Martin Jensen
March 25, 201313 yr Author Commercial Member Sorry the beta test is full at this time. I will be publishing updates and will let everyone know when it is released to the android market. It should be in the next week or two based off how the beta testing is going. I'm going to be adding one more major feature before release and that is a tie in to the FSX GPS system. If you have an active flightplan FlightMap will plot the next waypoint on the flightplan and will automatically show the next waypoint when you cross. It's working really well. I just need to add some of the textual data points to the ui and I'm working on that now. I also need to build out the initial screen. Right now it's just a text box and a plane selector. I need it to be much more professional looking to release to the market.
March 25, 201313 yr Sounds great! I'll be watching this thread awaiting release! Thank you for sharing your work with the rest of us! Mas Martin Jensen
March 27, 201313 yr Author Commercial Member Thought I would post a quick update Beta Tests have been going really well. There has been no real issues with the networking code and so far the app has been quite stable for everyone testing. I've received a ton of great feedback and I've started implementing some of the features. I should be releasing a second beta to the testers in the next day or two. Here's a quick screenshot so show some of the changes Moved the compass to overlay the map and added a vertical speed gauge. Added an option for GA Airspeed indicator now with barber pole. Tied into FSX GPS system so now will track existing flight plans and plot information for current waypoint. Also redid a lot of my own adhoc flightplan code. It's really shaping up at this point.
March 28, 201313 yr Thanks for the update. Once you release a version that is 1280x800 compatible for my Nexus 7 I will be definitely thinking about buying this app. Thanks Craig K
April 1, 201313 yr Author Commercial Member Here's a quick video on the latest FlightMap beta update. Lots of new features since the last video. Gps integration, new ad hoc routing, updated ui, overlays on map, vertical speed indicator, new launch ui, and many more. Hope to release it soon. Beta testers are having really good luck with it.
April 8, 201313 yr Author Commercial Member Tonight I’ve released the Release Candidate build to testers. If all goes well with testing over the next few days I hope to release the software to the play store on Wed. I’ve made a ton of performance improvements over the weekend as well as updated some graphics for the app. It’s really looking solid to me right now. I’m waiting to hear from my testers now. Exciting times
April 12, 201313 yr Author Commercial Member I'll be releasing the software this weekend. The Release Candidate testing has all gone well and I'm frantically trying to get the website and support materials completed. Life has gotten in the way of progress the last 2 days but I'll be working on it tonight and hopefully have everything released soon.
