There's no 'no smoking' switch on the new one!?

Some airlines like Air France removed the knob while other airlines have substituted no smoking for no electronics.

The images that follow are of an in-development product.  Certain imperfections, flaws, errors and omissions are present in these images that have already been corrected in the product, or are soon to be corrected.

I know there is a subset of users out there who cherish the opportunity to demonstrate to everyone in the forum how much they know about the minutiae of any particular airplane, but in **most** cases we vacuum all of these things up in the testing process- (50,000 or so pages of documentation have to be worth something!) so there is no need to hyperventilate and pass out from fright just because you see that the letter "R" is 1 pixel left of the cross hyperphallic induction valve animation on the lower equipment cooling display.

Also on the MCP, the "VS" in the Vertical Speed window should always been shown, whether it's active or not.  :P

Just pointing it out - no where am I saying it'll reflect the final product! (-;

Unless the MCP is in FPA mode

I guess the discussion about 2D panels does not belong here.

Maybe we can continue it here?

So I'm the only one pointing minor things out? That's right, completely single me out.

Don't worry about it Luke.

Luke, no one is singling you out, some people, myself included, are getting a little fed up of your showing off and nit picking.

As has been mentioned, RSR has stated these are in-development shots, therefore the product is incomplete. Save your nit picking until they've finished it.

James

little fed up of your showing off

What's showing off about displaying knowledge about something you've taken the time to study about?

Of course, you can't say anything around here without it being justified

Luke, however you characterise it, it's not necessary? As the developers have said, it's in-development and there is no need to highlight what you consider imperfections. It's counter productive. PMDG have all the experts they need and are well rehearsed at delivering the goods. Purely speculative, however I suspect your nit picking is a ploy to get on the beta team.

No one, is complaining about your studying. For someone who doesn't fly the 777 it's somewhat admirable.

James

BTW Rob has mentioned that one should sign posts, I've not seen your name on many of your posts, I know you're not the only offender.

however I suspect your nit picking is a ploy to get on the beta team.

You're joking right?  How on earth would anything I say get me a millimetre to being on a beta team? I'm not that naive  :LMAO: Anyway, you have an opinion on me which all is entitled to - end of, not looking to start an argument.

Oh and 1,600 odd posts and my name's always been fine in my signature, so I'll stick with that  :P

Oh please, Rob, just tell us you are tweaking the night lighting. We all know you are basing the lighting effects off pictures. Don't give us this malarkey about how you have a team using spectrometers to analyze the spectrum of lighting generated by the 777 night lighting. I'm sure Boeing engineers have nothing better to do than send emails back and forth with a developer of flight simulation airplanes.

We can all see through your fancy-talk. Just give it to use straight. You are still working on the night lighting. We get it.

Other than that, looks amazing. I will pick it up just like I have all your other products. Well done.

Luke, apologies I was looking on the iPad/iPhone and it doesn't show the banners:-)

As I said, it was speculation and thank you for reminding me that I'm entitled to my opinion.

Indeed, lets not bicker, I was merely pointing a trend that I've noticed.

Back on topic, pictures look great, looking forward to seeing BA and Emirates exterior shots:-)

Brgds,

And why, exactly, would that be? RSR already stated himself why he said they're using spectrum data. It doesn't mean an engineer has to run up and down the flightline each time PMDG has a question.

Knowing the details required by the governing agencies, I doubt there's going to be ANYTHING not documented on a 777, from the tiniest screw, over the colour of the flight deck lighting, to the specific colour each and every lightbulb has to be.
