I don't generally take part in this kind of thread, because I don't come here to argue or create conflict, but to share fun and enthusiasm with like-minded people.

 

And, anybody who does show their mean spirit quickly gets on my Ignore list, so I never see anything they write ever again. And this thread has given me the opportunity of enlarging that list. :lol: I don't say that this make my life better, but my stay at Avsim is certainly more pleasant.

 

Stonelance started this repaint movement, and, in a very small way, I was his agent in this matter. I assume he did this because, like those of us not on my Ignore list, he loves FS, including Flight, and is passionate about it - in fact, he told me so. We share this love of the game and want to see it live and prosper, grow and develop.

 

His Flight Toolkit has clearly invigorated our little community by giving those of us who like to fiddle the chance to personalize a small part of Flight. It is encouraging that Chloe has no objection and has even chosen to promote it.

 

It is hard to see why anybody would see a problem in this. On the contrary, all people of good will should ideally be happy and support this movement, and even hope for greater possibilities in the future.

 

The whole point is to enjoy our hobby and to make the most of our time in Flight. For my part, I am very glad that people are joining in and making liveries for the airplanes, and can only encourage them to continue, and all others to give it a try.

I have a working motto, which goes something along the lines of "Let people enjoy the game in whatever manner they choose". The game can be Flight, FSX or FS9. Heck I even say that about X-Plane! Let the entertainment product serve it's purpose, for one and all.

 

I also agree about Mr.Developer and his efforts to enhance Flight, in whatever manner they may take him. Too many want to forget that a good portion of the MS employees serving on this franchise were and are passionate about the product. Kudos to them!

 

 

And Luis, if I kinda promise to behave will you remove me from your blocked list...

faints... hits head on floor. *ouch* but smiling for some reason.

Don't forget that we still have new and interesting aerocaches to hunt. I think one of the best things the Flight team did was to invite the community to create and offer AOTD's. This was the first community input they allowed. Now we can vote on them too.

 

With the repaints coming along it's showing a renewed interest in the sim. Let's keep it going. Who knows what might happen down the line.

Lance, if I were ignoring you, I wouldn't have shamelessly stolen your A-LOHA registration and color combination for an Icon repaint. It was just meant to prove that mauve and sunflower yellow are very cool together.... in moderation! :LMAO:

When you create repaints, do they replace the originals, or can you add to them, so that you have all the old ones plus as many new ones as you wish?

I just want to add my two cents in....

 

I've bought every flight simulator that Microsoft ever made including Flight. I also bought both packs and all the planes that have cockpits and now I'm downloading the awesome repaints especially the Aloha one which is now my favorite. I even bought X-Plane 10 and I use them all.

 

However, as far as my elementary age grandkids and grandnieces are concerned, none of them were ever interested in any of the sims until they saw Flight. Now, when they come over, they put down their DS's and Mario whatever's and want me to load Flight so they can go to that wedding party in the Icon. They even help each other with speed, altitude, and views. Believe me, letting go of their hand held electronics is not an easy thing to do.

 

Flight may not be sophisticated as my other two sims but when I just want to fly around and have fun I use Flight. I hope Microsoft reconsiders the potential here and gets Flight moving again because IMO they made a big mistake letting it go. 

 

No negative comments please..... I've seen them all.

 

BTW, those repaints you guys are doing are fantastic.
