March 19, 201313 yr From Kittychix: Have you been messing around with the Flight Toolkit that was released a few weeks ago? We want to see what you've been working on! Send us a screenshot or two of your favourite designs (and if you'd like, if you have it hosted somewhere, send us that link too, so other Flight players can download your work!) Email them to us at [email protected]! https://news.microsoftflight.com/blogs/news/archive/2013/03/18/community-screenshots-how-did-you-park-there.aspx
March 19, 201313 yr I'll say it. You've got to be kidding me. ? We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. March 19, 201313 yr I don't understand either of your responses to this post. Would you care to elaborate?Drive-by shootings, so to speak. Someone sees a thread on the main forum page, clicks it and doesn't take a couple of seconds to see the forum it belongs to. Or the super-elite, hardcore simmer decides to do a little sniping on the little airplane game... Just my opinion, ya know. Rick I don'y know if you have super-human powers to do so, but maybe a change of the thread title to "MS wants to see your Flight re-paints" might be a better indicator as to whether people should comment or not?
March 19, 201313 yr This is encouraging news, it's a glimmer, a dim one, but a glimmer. Regards; Fritz
March 19, 201313 yr Now that I made a logo from scratch for a club at my school, I think it's time to take it to the next level by repainting after seeing this. Can this be the Flight version of grassroots movements? Or is it totally different? Alex Leung Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Glider & Private Pilot via Royal Canadian Air Cadets
March 19, 201313 yr You need to know when the economy is doing badly, and you want to keep up profits at your standard OTHER THAN COOKING THE BOOKS, there has to be something that goes. No only this, but there has to be many reasons to why they shut down a franchise. It may be temporary, or it may be permanently. The way Kittychix stated the things in the article suggests that MS is looking the community, and that MS is giving a chance to us (the community) to prove that Flight is worth developing. March 19, 201313 yr While MS has certainly ceased future development of Flight, and the MSFS franchise for that matter at least for now, I myself do find it at least a little encouraging that they have kept the program alive as it is, and left a couple of folks in place to kind of oversee it - and still supplying aerocaches anyway. At least they did not turn the lights out and lock the doors so to speak. Who knows what might happen down the road - it is interesting that the flight toolkit by Stonelance , with the attention it is getting, seems to have at least been noticed by them, and even mentioned on the Flight website with encouragement for folks to send in their creations. As a fan of civilian flight simulation by MS, I do not find this to be a bad thing at all, especially considering where we are today and have been the last few months. Don B
March 19, 201313 yr I had truly hoped that this thread wouldn't take a wrong turn. We are close to that at this point. Please don't take any more shots at Microsoft or Flight. I've cleaned up some of the posts so we can move on with a constructive discussion. We are all pleased at this time to see some development by one of the original developers of Flight and repaints have certainly boosted some interest in the sim. There might be other things in the future, but at this time we don't know. So Please, as the banner says, lets stay on topic and not get this closed. Thank You. Thank you. March 20, 201313 yr We should do this, show MS the enthusiasm! If designers are too busy to send mails to the Flight website I'm happy to send shots and links credited to you. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
March 20, 201313 yr Oh,I was so very tempted. But I kept my mouth shut! Hardly worth responding to. Steve
March 20, 201313 yr I too see the "re-paint" project as a nice shot-in-the-arm for Flight. I am encouraged that Microsoft would like to see this made available outside our AVSIM group. Let's keep this positive and growing.
March 20, 201313 yr I am very encouraged buy the MS intrest in late developments. Hopefully they see the intrest and desire of the FS community for more and thus just possably new intrest by MS to restart development themself. Good for us folks. It's all good. Moe
