March 25, 201313 yr I was looking at CSPAN this morning, where there is a hearing going on in Washington discussing the merger between American and US Airways. I wonder if the livery colors will stay the same for American, or will there be any hope of changing their rediculous paint scheme. Johnny Rosario
March 25, 201313 yr I would say the new livery they rolled out a month or so ago is going to be the one to stick. Why would they spend the time/money/effort to completely rebrand the airline and then turn around and switch it?? I'm sure they had the merger in mind before doing the rebranding. On a side note, what in the world does this have to do with PMDG?? Adam Hill
March 25, 201313 yr Author It has a lot to do with PMDG, specially for the 737 and upcoming 777 which sooner or later someone would like to paint it if they do change the livery. Johnny Rosario

You must of not been around when Delta went thru two or three different liveries in the span of 24 to 36 months back in late 90's early 2000's A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools. - Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
March 25, 201313 yr I wonder if the livery colors will stay the same for American, or will there be any hope of changing their rediculous paint scheme. I don't see why AA would choose a livery and start repainting their mainline/Eagle/Connection fleets when they may merge with US. It has a lot to do with PMDG, specially for the 737 and upcoming 777 which sooner or later someone would like to paint it if they do change the livery. I want to see the bare metal livery on any upcoming product. I don't really care for the new livery. Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"
March 25, 201313 yr I'm not a huge fan of the new livery either, and this is the first AA logo without a real Eagle in it. Alex Jevdic KORD/KHOT/KPWKA<380 love at first flight
March 25, 201313 yr From what I am Hearing from AA employes I know,The new livery may not last. March 25, 201313 yr all american airlines planes stay in the livery. But do the US planes get aa's new livery?
March 25, 201313 yr Just a general question re: US Airways. Has anyone flown them from Philadelphia to Las Vegas? I've been offered a choice of Delta UK-Atlanta-LV, or US Airways UK-Phillie-LV. Which would be a better option to go for in the opinion of both UK and US-based pax from past experiences? Thanks Rick Almeida
March 25, 201313 yr But do the US planes get aa's new livery? I could see AA doing some type of hybrid-heritage livery (US color scheme but American name) on a few select aircraft. But not on the enitre fleet. Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"

Which would be a better option to go for in the opinion of both UK and US-based pax from past experiences? Thanks Airlines are so interchangeable these days it's hard to pick one from another. I fly USAirways on long flights almost exclusively, since they dominate Phoenix and have the greatest selection of flights. When deciding, consider your layover. A short layover can be a challenge in a bigger airport like Atlanta. Also I consider frequency of flights. If you miss your connecting flight, which airline offers more options to fly out later? As for service, I can't offer an opinion on Delta, since it's been some years since I've flown on that airline. I just flew cross country on USAirways last month and service, on time performance and aircraft comfort were fine. Regards, John
March 25, 201313 yr I don't see why AA would choose a livery and start repainting their mainline/Eagle/Connection fleets when they may merge with US. Mainly, because if the merger goes through, USAIR will take the name American and they'll repaint their planes (eventually) If it don't American will just keep their new livery. If you saw the merger commercial where they state that 2 airlines become one, and refer to them as "The New American Airlines". Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d

My layover at Phillie is just over 2 hours both ways. I flew Delta on a Tri-Star many, many years ago on my way to Kansas City, and while killing time at Atlanta, decided to go take some photographs of some Big Iron arriving and departing, and that was long before I'd ever even heard of a flight sim. From the number of security guards that followed my every move, I could easily have felt I was an Al Quaeda target!! Rick Almeida
March 26, 201313 yr I read in a statement from Doug Parker (US Airways current and American Airlines future CEO) that this new livery is the livery moving forward. Since the two companies have been talking since last summer and the livery came out in January it's hard to believe Parker didn't have involvement with coming up with it. I flew one in the new paint the other day. It was a cloudy rainy day everywhere we went and the plane just looked grey. None of the metallic part of it really showed up unless you got really close to it. Also walking up to it on the ramp with the jet bridge attached all you can see is the nose section which has no detail other than the sliver grey paint. It looks very plain. It is kind of the same looking at it from the terminal. I think they missed the mark on the shade. Well they missed the mark on all of it really. Tom Landry
March 26, 201313 yr Its really strange to see an American Eagle plane with no eagle on the tail. Alex Jevdic KORD/KHOT/KPWKA<380 love at first flight
