April 8, 201313 yr Hello dear X-plane 10 users,I am a FSX user currently. Since i read Xplane have 64bit capability with 10.20 patch i am seriously thinking about transfering to X-plane 10. Main problem is i cannot able to find information that i want on the web. I am from Turkey and i would like to see scenery from some airports. There is a video on youtube but airport appears as deserted <_< .Any X-plane 10 user can get screen shots of LTBA, LTAC and screenshots from the cities they belong. (LTBA - IStanbul), (LTAC - Ankara). I would like to see airports and city scenery so i have an idea what i can have if i buy the software At least i have autgenerated scenery and autogenerated airports in FSX, if xplane dont have those i am not going to buy it. Thanks you for your interest ^_^
April 8, 201313 yr Don´t buy it, I am certain that with what you are looking for in a flight-simulator you will be disappointed. All the best, Jan

To be more clear, i always fly IFR i am not into VFR. Dont want to fly over istanbul and say "Waov look at the graphics". I only want to see an airport with a good night city view that is all. Because in the video i watched there was only 1 runway, nothing more. EDiT : ps. i am currently using default FSX + Acceleration airports and sceneries for my country.

Download the demo and give it a try and don't listen to the "don't buy it" comments and just judge for yourself then you can decide if it is for you or not. http://www.x-plane.com/downloads/landing/ Before you decide to take the time to download the demo, I can tell you for sure that XP doesn't include generic buildings at every airport like FSX does. After you download it (if you are willing to try it) download the latest installer and update it to the latest release 10.20 (Don't know if the demo is current) http://www.x-plane.com/downloads/x-plane_10_installer-updater/ Once installed and updated it will default to 64-bit when launched. April 9, 201313 yr I'm also mainly an FSX user too, but I am loving X-Plane 10/64bit. If you like to fly at night, it will blow FSX away. Default airports generally do not have buildings, like they do in FSX, but there is a lot of new payware airports coming out now. The ones by TrueScenery are every bit as good as Orbx. Robert Yunque
April 9, 201313 yr AYKI, Here is my response to your request. I don't believe the demo will allow you to see the area your interested in. I am not familiar with Turkey. So I do not know if the area is represented well or not in X-plane. I'm just posting some shots of the two airport you mentioned in hopes that it will help you make up your mind one way or the other. Now, before I loaded up this scenery, I checked X-plane.org to see if there was any freeware scenery of either airport, because I think anyone interested in flying in a specific are would at least download already available freeware scenery for that area. There is scenery available for LTBA which includes the airport and area around the airport. I used this for these shots. I also have UrbanMaxx installed, which is payware and adds some additional generic textures. so keep that in mind. I was not able to find any freeware scenery for LTAC, so this airport looks pretty void of anything interesting to see. Hope this helps, Rob LTBA LTAC
April 9, 201313 yr ^ Rob, It's great to hear a un biased opinion, and good for you for taking the time to find the scenery and post the pictures. I have both sims and have fs2004 as well, I enjoy both and both have their pro's and con's. I also enjoy dabbling a bit with scenery in un populated airports.... I still suck at it but am getting better I find it adds another dimension to the sim. just my two cents, thanks, Scot
April 9, 201313 yr Rob, I just wanted to take the time to compliment you on a great response. Rather than the usual, "You'll HATE it!", "No, you'll LOVE it!" posts, you took the time to show the OP exactly what he wanted to see in his area, including researching to see what freeware was available, installing it and showing it. That's above and beyond and worthy of a big thumbs up! :good: Scott

Xplane10 the "Night Simulator" Daytime is alittle "not so pretty" with that stupid haze/zero visibility bug that creeps up on you most of the time. Sent from my iPhone5 using Tapatalk 2
April 9, 201313 yr Author Thanks to you guys so much for your replies. Comanche thank you so much for the screenshots. Those are more than enough for me. That LTBA is converted from FSX and kinda old. It is no problem for me, i play Battlefield 3 at full setting when i want graphics. Graphics in the screenshots satisfied me enough, especially Istanbul (LTBA) scenery is better than i expected. FSX kinda makes me mad, with i7 3770k, GTX 680 and 16gb ram machine with SSD on it for games and game cannot use it?! what the hell. X-plane gives 64 bit, ok then i ll buy it. Instead of Prepar3d it seems i ll buy Xplane. I will return to my hometown at summer (end of bussiness here) so i can start to build my amateur cockpit with xplane. Since xplane is newly developed from my point of view thumbs up for it. All i wanted to fly a 777 and enjoy it. As i said it seems xplane will full fill my request. Sorry for bad grammar Thank you everyone again. Regards.
April 10, 201313 yr Ayki, I would recommend you to seriously give X-Plane a try. I've been an FSX user and have since moved on over to X-Plane and haven't looked back since. It grows on me each and everytime I use it, and if you love flying during night, sunset or sunrise, then X-Plane is a definite winner in that area. Feel free to check out my screenshots that I posted in the screenshot section of X-Plane. Maybe you will get a better idea of what to expect. It's not perfect by no means but it's definitely growing into something great. April 10, 201313 yr Author thanks for your supoort. today i v learnt that by using tools we can add autogen to xplane "openmaps" so? LTAC Ankara dont have scenery? No problem it is easy to do it. Bad thing is i cannot share it I have found out that developing scenery for xplane is better than FSX so my future sim is X-plane 10. Bored of FSX not giving me my computers full potential, to be honest my main reason to check x-plane 10 is being 64bit

Bored of FSX not giving me my computers full potential, to be honest my main reason to check x-plane 10 is being 64bit same here, I fly fsx/p3d and xp10(all on the same drive with zero problems) but i'm bored with the 32bit 4gb limit of fsx. My fps are fast in fsx and it looks good but there's something about xp10(even in beta) that just feels better when your in the cockpit.

April 12, 201313 yr Even if there is no native X-Plane airport available for LTAC, you can convert existing FS9 and FSX airports with FS2XPlane. Take eg LTAC for FSX or FS9 (plus update) - if they don't convert 100 percent perfectly, you can correct things with Overlay Editor.
