This is NOT acceptable Majestic!

Featured Replies

Well, they have produced a product that doesn't work for paying customers because of their DRM. That's not even close to acceptable. It's Majestic that is smearing their name themselves. They need to sort of this problem.

That said, Per would be better off staying calm, as being angry hurts nobody but himself.

What do you want them to do, hand it out on CD's to digital pirates?  I find DRM absolutely annoying, but it is a reality of our modern world.  Even industry giants (ehem...EA and Simcity) haven't perfected it yet even.  Still, I can't ask a company not to try and protect their software after all the work they put in to the product.  If you don't like DRM, complain to the pirates, not the company.

As for not working for paying customers, give them a little time!  If you review the release thread, a large number of people already got their problems fixed.  It may take a time to sort out the remaining problems.  If they say "tough %#$@ it doesn't work, too bad", then you can call it unacceptable.  I see no evidence of them doing that right now though.

The issue isn't their DRM though is it.

The issue is that the demand for the product was huge, and the servers failed intermittently.

Come Monday, the server issue will be fixed and all should be well.

Have you sent them another email, as Martyn suggested?

Or perhaps check your spam folder in case it's been diverted there.

Mailed them three times, first time yesterday, two times today... no reply, and nothing in my spam...

I do too, after all, ofcourse I appreciate the work they do/done for us so far!

...only wish I could get that installer to work...

But I have to ask...

I just downloaded the installer again, but after i have typed my e-mail, ordernr. and name, I get that message saying

"Installs exhausted"

What does that mean???

It means that you have attempted to install more times than the software is set up for. You need your counter reset.

I guess you should get a reply some time tomorrow.

I wonder if in your case, it's the activation that's failing due to the Majestic server issue. If so, when Majestic upgrade tomorrow it should work.

SOME paying customers are having issues.  Others are clearly having a blast.

The anger and expectations in this and some of the other threads on this plane astonish me.  This is a revolutionary product that's been through a long development cycle, it just released, they're having some teething problems and from postings here and on their FB page, they're working pretty much non-stop to mitigate and ultimately solve the issues.

This is a small company - give them a chance to find their way and succeed, and delay the outrage and judgment until it's more obvious how all of this will be dealt with longer term.

For my part, I read the early comments (you all DO research a bit before you buy, don't you?) saw the problems that were occurring and decided that waiting was the prudent thing to do while some of the issues were sorted.

The thing is that these issues will never affect the pirates. The pirates stuff will always work "straight out of the box". The DRM will basically only hinder paying customers.

I disagree.  Yes, the pirates will find a way.  But if there are no obstacles, the piracy will run rampant.  You'll basically just get friends e-mailing it to each other (ya, I know, e-mail won't literally work).  With at least some DRM, you'll need a small bit of computer savvy to do so.  It may not be much, but it's going to be a constant cat and mouse game with better DRM and better pirates.
