Great shots. What scenery are you using?

Great shots of the Snake River Plain!

Beautiful pics!

I was stuck in Idaho Falls when my alternator failed for 5 days. Lots of beautiful scenery out there by air-flying by craters of the moon, the snake river, the backside of the tetons,-your shots bring back many memories.Nothing else like photo scenery to bring the best of the western US out in a sim.

Very nice screenshots! I particularly like the first 2.

Coordinates please. Looks like Orbx hmm.

Well done!  The sudden change you note is due to the lava flows that are the key feature of Craters of the Moon.  And yes, Orbx has modeled this area very well in their Central Rockies region.

While not aviation related, like Geof I was also stuck out here for days when the final drive on my BMW K1200LT motorcycle failed catastrophically in the Craters of the Moon area.

It is the middle of nowhere, but beautiful nevertheless.  Or perhaps beautiful because it's the middle of nowhere.

In my case-was flying from Boise to Billings with a fuel stop in Idaho Falls. Something felt a little funny on the first leg-just a little more vibration than usual-thought I'd have the local mechanic have a look just in case. He opened the cover and after a few minutes announced that one of the brackets holding my alternator had broken. I asked him what to do as that did not sound good and explained I was trying to fly on to Michigan-he said I'd be ok and to go for it. Something didn't feel right so I went to the other mechanic on the field-his face went pale and he said he couldn't believe the other guy told me to go on. I thanked him and asked him how long it would take to do a repair (it was Friday afternoon)-he said they were Mormon and didn't work on weekends but he would be glad to look at it first thing Monday! I and my passenger (my Dad) decided best course was to rent a car and go see the Tetons. It was great! We got the call late Monday afternoon the plane was ready-went to the airport to pay the bill, but were concerned because there were tanks, F16's taking off and and they were taping plastic all around the airport perimeter. Shocked I asked what was going on-President Clinton has been vacationing in the Tetons and is leaving from Idaho Falls. What does that mean I asked-means the airport will be closed one day before he leaves and one day after-but that information is classified...

Needless to say I was upset, and finally got an unofficial answer-if I left Tuesday morning I might be able to get out-otherwise another 3-4 days there. Went to the hotel optimistic, got the weather forecast which was calling for 50 mph winds the next day (mountain pass crossing a no no) and got depressed. Woke up next day-winds were calm instead -and got out.-going over the pass to Big Sky country and then on to Bozeman to Helena. Tailwinds were so strong made it to Duluth  in one leg-bad news turned to good news! One of many adventures...

Great shots.

Very gorgeous pictures, Idaho is one of my stomping grounds and orbx does do a great job of portraying the nothingness that exists there. Makes for a peaceful flight

Oh, wow.  In my case, something started to feel wrong coming down from McCall after going through a particularly rough construction zone on the way to Boise.  Stopped in Boise at the shop and was told nothing was wrong.  I insisted otherwise, but after almost popping a few veins in the "discussion" the shop wouldn't budge.  In my case (and against my better judgement), I decided to go and see what would happen.  160 miles or so east of Boise..., well it wasn't pretty.  Gear oil poring on to the back tire of a large touring MC is not a good thing.

BMW roadside assistance got to pay for a very long and expensive flatbed tow (all the way out from and back to Boise), as well as several nights accommodation reimbursement.

Jimmi, your shots certainly evoked some interesting memories for a couple of us!  :O  Thanks again for posting them.
