HD ground textures in FS9 (Continued...)

Know that I am working on a more complete verion of this convertion. With more textures specially developed and strong for FS9. These textures have been reworked to be compatible with FS9 taking into account the correspondence between FS9 and FSX

I've used the Birds Eye and Fscene4X textures. Yours put them to shame. I can't believe how much better FS9 looks. Thank you!  :im Not Worthy:

  • Ron, I've find a bad texture with snow visible in fall season:   Download the good one here https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/79445204/patch_003b2.zip   Sorry

Well ....... here we go again ........ third verse same as the first .........

I don't disagree with you, gwillmot, but Aime's FS9 textures are reduced to 256x256... They don't pretend to be any higher res. And yes, they do look better. Try them and see.

Hi.... and thanks ;-)

Now I'm on the version v0.5 and think it's time to upload the pack on Avsim library.

I decided, just for fun, name the project with pompous name "FS2004 Terra Emergence Project"

Videos of v0.5:

African area

European area

North America area

Asian area

Other area videos coming soon

I am going to try them, as soon as all of these redone textures get out of "beta".

Aime,

Those videos look very nice indeed.  Kudos for all the work that goes into reworking the textures!

Can I inquire which water and environment textures you are using?  Yours look very nice, and I dare say realistic.  The sky looks a little too dark for my taste - maybe it's my location (more haze), but I keep my sky a lighter blue.

Continued luck on your project!

Ron

I guess I understand the desire to hang back and wait... but I say go for it.

I'm on the closed beta (not very active with it, though, due to some RW commitments in this last month) for Sacshas textures and I've downloaded the open betas of Aimes textures from fsdeveloper. Both sets have their perks! Sacshas work aims for a complete overhaul of the FS9 environment, including roads, rivers, shorelines, autogen, default buildings, 3d lighing, and airport environments. That presents a very consistant visual environment and 3d lights are stunning. Aimes seem to be more limited in their scope... I'm running them in conjunction with GE2006 on a separate install... but what they do, they do very well! Sacshas present a well-watered world, Aimes FS9 work seems to have started out with rocks and has ended up more suitable for the aridity in my corner of the world. We'll see what the reduced saturation textures in Sacshas upcoming beta II version look like...

Well ....... here we go again ........ third verse same as the first .........

I am stating a preference. It has nothing to do with the technical issues being argued, which I don't give a crap about, your views included. I like the way these textures look. Period.

Great! Looking forward to it. Thanks again for the many hours you've spent on something that benefits us all. This is why I've always given away the scenery and scenery objects I make.

Mr. Schwartz,

My comment was NOT directed at you, but rather on the topic of the "debate".  I have taken no sides.

Nice comment about a "view" I didn't take!

There was certainly no clue to that in your post, especially since there had been no posts to this topic for almost 2 months and you replied to my recent one within hours. Sure seemed like your comments were aimed at me...I apologize for not being a mind reader. Before you click the "Post" button you might give a little thought to what you've written and how it might be perceived.

Ya, I'm sure it was all my fault

Hello.

Thank you Amie for uploading the new texture version 0.5

I have installed your version 0.3 beta textures some time ago, an this made a mutch better details for all regions of Fs2004.

This was like a new world with mutch better details on my computer.

I do not care people arguing with graphicks pixtels sizes "256 here-1024 there".

You have to use our own eyes flying the sim, and reflect on what you see clear, or not clear.

I just Fly this FS2004 sim  during my free time, and enjoying it.

It is a way to fly away from the normal world some hours, and have some fun with this sim.

Your new  Ground texture makes the sim to a new very good experience.

I will be one of the first to Download the new addon.

Thank you.

Lars Peter.
