Process of releasing...

Featured Replies

Hello everyone

I am not directing this question to get any release date or so, just can you inform us of the release process? I mean what are we going to expect? A teaser? More previews? Or just the release of the product? And how you plan to release? Tells us how many days before hand? Or same day?

One more question that is irrelevant to the first one

What is the exact sequence of engine start in both 777 and the 747? Is it company options for the sequence? Does it change from one airline to another?

Thank You

Release process:  The moon will begin to unexpectedly eclipse the sun.  The earth will begin to tremble.  If your computer is on, it will begin to flicker.  If your computer is off, it will extemporaneously energize and tune in to Facebook.  Some animation on Facebook will begin to move to completion.  At that moment, RSR hits the enter key and ******* returns to save his flock, riding the fuselage of the PMDG 777 like a surfboard.  It's going to be so cool.

In the past, RSR would usually make a comment in the forum that the product was complete and that the team was assembling and testing the actual installer package.  It seems like that usually took a couple of days.  This would then be followed by another forum comment that the installer was done and that release was imminent.  The product generally went live within a few hours of that announcement.  Some here may recal the release of the 744, which happened at night time and there were so many people sitting here in the forum and clicking the "refresh" button that the entire Avsim site crashed as a result and was down for a few days.  If I remember correctly, PMDG's servers were also overwhelmed causing purchase delays.  Hopefully, this this will go much more smoothly.  RSR did make a coment recently that he would provide clear notice on the forum when release was imminent, sop that every one would know when to expect it.

PMDG has significantly upgraded the server e-system they are going to use, so I'm sure that will help.  I didn't know that about the 744 release ... interesting.  With the DDos attack on the NGX release, who knows what will happen.  As a clue to the release of the NGX, the PMDG folks showed a series of NGX Facebook shots during a landing.  When the gear hit the runway, the product was released.

Hopefully a video next. I think Rob said something similar - there's only so much more photos can show now. Hopefully no attacks on release - unlike what I read about the NGX!!

Hello moe,

I was reviewing PMDG's Facebook page, it seems that 10 days prior to ngx's release date, RSR opened a thread mentioning the approximate release date, after just two days he started another thread mentioning the price and the exact release date. In between they released many preview clips made by aoa and many beta testers comments. In anyway, I guess each release has its particular theme, the 777 theme is (mysteries and thrillers), so who knows, maybe we will see a new process.

Have a nice day my friend,

Steve

As I recall, the 747 released started with a picture on the PMDG website of the 747 crashing through a wall.

And, of course, if Avsim goes down then we will know for sure that it has released

Yes, I remember that one too; it was really cool!  Somewhere I even saved a screenshot of it, though I am not sure I can find it now.  I wonder if they will top it with the 777?  Does anyone remember what kind of screen they posted for the NGX?

For those who do not remember, the forums were outputting the too busy message for a good three hours for the NGX. My only hope is that RSR coordinates with Tom so that both have enough coffee on hand.

system when down this evening at 1745 does that mean the release is soon, from what I read that's what happened when 747  was released.
