July 2, 201312 yr Im trying to get to know the Pmdg 737 fmc and I think I'm doing ok, but I have 2 problems. 1. Not airways (J87, V282, etc). Airways belong in via 2. A/T armed? Route fully set up between two airports? cruise altitude set?
July 2, 201312 yr Author thanks for asnwering 1. I know that, but when I write airways and put it into via, it says invalid entry, but most waypoints work 2. if armed means on then I have the A/t on and the route and cruise altidute is set (If the fmc works that is.)
July 2, 201312 yr Is your nav data current, or are you using the airac that came with it? If you haven't updated the nav data, then it's possible that some airways have changed and therefore the FMC doesn't recognize them. Steve Caffey
July 2, 201312 yr And pls. go through the tutorial flight one or two times to familiarize with the FMC. What happened to AVSIM
July 2, 201312 yr Author I know how to use the fmc, I have watched some tutorials and I have flown the tutorial flight a few times and how do I update my nav data thanks for answering
July 2, 201312 yr Commercial Member 1. Are you able to enter the following flight plan? KPHL-KBOS DITCH V223 JFK This will work with any AIRAC version for the NGX. 2. Are you getting any error messages when you attempt to enter data into the flight plan? 3. For background purposes, what other FMCs have you programmed successfully? Dave Hodges System Specs: I9-13900KF, NVIDIA 4070TI, Quest 3, Multiple Displays, Lots of TERRIFIC friends, 3 cats, and a wonderfully stubborn wife.
July 2, 201312 yr Author I just purchased that nav thing for one cycle. will it automatically update once I open Fsx?1.yes2. Just the Invalid entry when I type in the Airway. or something like that.3. I've successfully programmed, YSSY-YSCB and back. and YSSY-NVVV and back.
July 2, 201312 yr Since you havn't said what the problem your having so I'am guessing, ensure that you have completely filled out your fmc and executed it. Than you need to turn on both your f/d s/w's to on and than you should be able to turn on your vnav and it should light up. This is all in both the tutorials if you have done them. Also the fcom goes in great depth on how things work if you got the time, just a matter of entering key words in the search box eg just type in vnav and it will list all the pages for you I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
July 2, 201312 yr Commercial Member I'm with Peter. I've been flying PMDG aircraft since the original 737NG, but I still fly each and every tutorial flight. You'd be surprised how much you don't know when you assume you know it all. Heck, when I was an applications instructor, it was always the self-proclaimed "gurus" that knew the least... If you fly the tutorials, all the issues you are having will be solved. Guaranteed. Kyle Rodgers
July 3, 201312 yr Author when I installed the 737 it just came with one tutorial flight named: PMDG 737NGX Tutorial #2 EHAM-LOWI Shut down at Lowi. And thats the only tutorial flight ive done.
July 3, 201312 yr To accurately use VNAV mode using pmdg 737.. You as the pilot need to input all the performance parameters into your FMC before departure. Once all that is completed ,as well as, a complete flight plan with departure and arrival procedures plugged into the FMC. Your VNAV will work no problem.
