PMDG 777 VIDEO - VHHH Departure

From what I've heard, CON won't be modelled. Maybe Ryan can jump on this and explain better - but I don't believe the full function is within FSX's limits. That's including in the NGX...

Thanks Luke. Would be great if Ryan or someone else could explain that.

Don't have the nice Cessna rear windows to check the rudder deflection (though not too different from your Piper).  The rudder is big enough to see at full left from my side, though.

Yeah I do full control checks during preflight first in the piper mainly for the stabilator/rudder check since no way to see once you're in. My CFI opens his door and sticks his head out to look in the run up but I'm not always going to be flying with another pilot that can do that. Sorry yeah- DA40  :P

Thanks Luke - we're still not finished - some further new cool features are incoming .......

Awesome man - cannot wait for it

Sorry for causing a bit of heated discussion here guys - just aggs me when people take flight simulator habits/procedures into real world flying.

God I would literally pay 3 times the price of this to be able to fly it now. As a pilot student on holidays, There would be nothing better. But I know the wait will be worth. ^_^

Taking a break from the real world stuff to sort out some life stuff, but yep!  The Diamond (40, btw) is a bit different to check the controls though.  Don't have the nice Cessna rear windows to check the rudder deflection (though not too different from your Piper).  The rudder is big enough to see at full left from my side, though.

Since you are so spoiled with G1000 suite already, I am suprised the folks at Garmin/Diamond haven't introduced a flight control display on the MFD (I have done about 4 or so hours in a G1000 172SP, hated it. My 172R with a conventional DG, ADI, RMI and KLN89 does me fine [besides that the database in the 89 is about 15 years old). :P :P

I thought I read somewhere that Diamond had modified a DA42 with fly by wire and tested some sort of primitive auto-land system. Pretty neat.

haha - spoiled isn't the word.  I rarely fly the G1000.  The main reason I use the DA40 is to get places a little faster.  My go to is still this:

(which, oddly enough, this picture is from the same flight my avatar is from...and my DB is up to date...gotta keep that on lock!)

Ha, you wouldn't believe it but that is that exact same avionics stack as what we have in ours (and what I have most my hours in). Is that an R or S model in that pic?

R model.  N172DR, or as I call it, "The Doctor."  We have a few Ss, too.

So, because that's the procedure I use in the 777 means I'm going to do it in every aircraft? (Probably won't fly another different type of jet in FSX again) Tomorrow when I fly my PA28 (RW) I'll be sure to check the EICAS for any malfunctions. I think Kyle is taking up this procedure in the DA42 too  B)

Please stop judging someone based of what they do in a simulator. Almost as bad as the guy on Vatsim trying to tell me I'm lacking motivation by sitting in the right sit on FSX

Oh good lord. Take some criticism for crying out loud. The only way to improve and learn in ANY endeavour is to receive feedback and criticism, and if you are going to go out and post things on youtube you are going to open yourself up to it.

Language Barriers can mean that criticism's from those who do not have English as a first language often come over as harsh as the vocabulary to 'fluff it up' isn't always available, but nevertheless, the guy took time out of his day to say 'hey, i see you doing this, you might consider it good practice to do it this way because of X...' and you jump on the defensive...

As Jeff says above, there are way too many childish pissing contests here, where perceived slights, false offense, and ego driven face saving take precedence over actually learning something new.

Nobody, not even Boeing's Chief 777 Pilot would ever claim to have ALL of the answers when it comes to their aircraft, so any opportunity to expand ones knowledge must surely be a good opportunity no?

I think if EVERYONE in FS Land tried to be a little more humble, then this community might actually start making some progress towards being a somewhat friendlier place.

Cheers

I understand you're point Smiffy. I don't think it was the criticism that caused the annoyance. It was the tone in which it was presented. I read the post a few times to understand his context. I think constructive criticism is always necessary. However, presentation/projection/tact is required.

Thus my mention of;

Far too many people here forget that many, many, many people have English as a second, or maybe even fourth or fifth language and seem to lack the critical abilities to read between the lines. I appreciate that if you rarely if ever venture beyond the English speaking world that that can be easy to forget, but we are, are we not, attempting to simulate Aviation. That beautiful endeavour that has single handedly turned the world into one cosmopolitan global village made up of billions of people, and thousands (millions perhaps?) of languages...

Just to re-iterate... A little more humility and understanding from everyone in this great little community of ours could make a massive difference to everyones enjoyment of it.

Cheers

Interpreting tone in text can be a very slippery slope...

"Roger, Roger...What's Our Vector, Victor?"

Not if the syntax and intent are clearly understood.... even with language barriers. Now with this post, I think everything was taken a bit to serious. We all have different opinions and we should strive to understand each other like Smiffy said.  I see your a Northwest guy, I live in " Big Sky Country" Take care!!
