Captain John Goss, Ryanair's longest serving pilot, who publicly blew the whistle on the safety/intimidation culture in Ryanair on Monday night, has today been fired.

That's the way the airline business is. Safety is the number one priority, UNLESS, it impacts the operation. I see it all the time.

Absolutely disgusting. I watched the show and whilst it 'felt' a little biased it seems well known just the ridiculousness of the policies and procedures in FR.

 

I wondered how long it would be until someone was fired but 48 hours is just.....

An utterly despicable organisation, with a complete loser of a human being at the helm.

 

Would never ever fly with them.  Would take surface transport and extended my journey if necessary to avoid putting 1 Euro in that ********'s pocket.

I saw this coming the instant I saw the program. He surly knew this himself too. If he weren't a year from retiring he wouldn't have show his face like the others I'm sure.

 

But still disgraceful to be fired within couple of days!

Anyone know where or how I can watch this program? I'm in the US and was at work when the link was posted.

I think it was a poor documentary. It highlighted very little new insights into Ryanair and had very little impact on the general population.

 

In fact radio stations the next day were getting people to call in with good stories and comments about Ryanair to counter the negative PR :rolleyes:

 

I feel sorry for Captain John Goss for putting is job on the line for an extremely mediocre documentary.

You'll need to be in the UK/IRE.

There are heaps of advice available on how to act as a whistleblower for your identity not to be revealed. Seems like this never was an issue for John Goss.

 

It rather looks like John has managed to be quite a straight shooter for a number of years and still to stay with the company - until now.

 

Kudos for him and ... yes, spread the news!
