August 19, 201312 yr I would do it  Just because Boeing said it can link any city pair, for fun. Imagine the disappointed millionaires: Boeing promised two city pairs! And I had to call my private tanker to not drop into the pacific! Curses!  System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A, Intel i9-14900KF, Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL. August 19, 201312 yr Nice idea I might find a route published by others and fly rtw too. The first RTW site is still up. http://www.dmcity.com/slarty/index.php3 - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
August 24, 201312 yr Has anyone attempted to take the PMDG 737-800 around the world yet? Was kicking around the idea this weekend and was curious. Basically the two large ocean crossings need some planning. The Atlantic is easy -> either cross via Keflavik to Montreal, or from any of the two large coastal airports of Mauritania to Natal (Brazil). The Pacific is another story -> there you will need some serious planning, and many of the international airtports you can get -> NFTF, PKMJ, PTSA, ANYN, Guam, PHNL, Rarotonga (Cook Islands), Tahiti, Easter Island etc.. Or you can do a shortcut from Anchorage to Magadan-Sokol (Russia). PS: Bad thing is you cannot do (north) polar crossings with the NGX for two reasons: - not enough range (even with the 700) - no true heading
August 24, 201312 yr The 737 can be delivered with a Polar Nav Option but with even without it can do polar with some limitations. There are some great polar ops info from "the man himself" here: http://www.boeing.com/commercial/aeromagazine/aero_16/polar_nav_by_model.html
August 25, 201312 yr In November, 11 fixed base sims (and one full motion 747 sim) will take off for a 7 day round trip around the world. Included are I think 6 737NG simulators. Each sim raises money for charity, and there are usually 50 or so other pilots joining the sims on each legs through the VATSIM network. August 25, 201312 yr I think I just might try that tour, in various aircraft, on my own time of course. Thanks for posting.
August 25, 201312 yr thanks for posting, that looks fun. I think I will try that trip in the ngx off of vatsim as well. I usually run errands or clean the house at cruise.
