August 21, 201312 yr Author Maybe the 77L is more specific for cargo since for passngers to stay sill for 15 hours or more while for cargo it is more important to arrive to a place in a less time possible so without step over. then again the more paying passengers u can carry the better it is. August 21, 201312 yr so to implent te expansion pack wont be a joke  will be almost a different planeProbably less of a difference than between the 737-800/900 and 737-600/700 which had a few cockpit panel changes. The main difference for the 300ER is the external model (and the taxi cam if it's simulated). IIRC, PMDG have chosen to use the same engine for both.
August 21, 201312 yr Different airframe => different performance figures too David Zhong New video every Thursday: Aircraft Lighting - Boeing 777
August 21, 201312 yr Different airframe => different performance figures too Yes, but the flight simulation will be essentially the same. If you use 300ER weights with the 200LR FDE you would not be very far out. You need some adjustment for drag and tail volume changes. The difference is no greater than between the NGX 8900 and 6700. Less probably as that involved two extra versions, not one. It's certainly not as different as the person I replied to suggested.
August 21, 201312 yr Who of you has ever flown on a 77L? I've had enough of my last SIN-ZRH flight (around 11.20 hrs), now idea how it would be on a Charter-airline without any form of modern inflight entertainment. What has UA done with their 777-200ER to be able to fly 15 hrs? Are they flying in stratosphere or all the way over to Australia at 250knots? Alexander Dressler
August 21, 201312 yr I've flown on the 200LR before. Just got back 2 weeks ago from a trip on it. IAD-ADD round trip.
August 29, 201312 yr I fly (and have flown) the Delta 7/8 ATL-DXB every 3-4 months since the pairing started around 2005. Coming and going from Work. One time I also flew the United IAD-DXB. It's Very long commute but uber convienient and comfortable (if you know what seats to get). Prior to the 7/8 going to DXB, it was a 2 or 3 leg flight through Amsterdam, London, Paris or Frankfurt. ugh. Flight is always full and we usually cruise at 41K. Usually between 13-15 hours depending on winds and time of the year. I love it though we call it "Con-Air" because it is a popular flight for all contractors on that half of the planet. Needless to say I have tons of Frequent Flyer Miles. Jim Atkins

It takes me about 5-7 days to get to theater now. Cheers, Todd ATP MEL Commercial SEL B-747, BE-300, BE-400, DHC8, ERJ 170/190, MU-300 C-17A Globemaster III

Twice round trips DXB-SEA this summer and the last. 13h and half westbound and 14h eastbound.I guess both should be called northbound since they were polar routes. August 30, 201312 yr Hi Guys useless i tell you i am really excited to wait for this other masterpiece PMDG branded. I love this plane and i understood that the expansion pack will be the 777-300 ER. At this point i would like to ask what are the main differencies between the two planes? I am not interested in differencies like Camera for taxi. I talk of systems. Performances and so on. Thanks One physical difference you might observe aside from the extra length is the 300ER semilevered main landing gear design. This is noticeable as an extra strut linking main strut to the forward axle of each main gear boogie (or truck if you want). You will see this on all 300ERs but not on the 200LR or any other 777 model for that matter. Boeing claims that this design improves take off performance by allowing the main gear trucks to tilt up at the same time as the nose gear during rotation. I believe this allows the airplane to attain more positive angle of attack in less time thus getting airborne quickly. Nanjul J. Dakat
