August 24, 201312 yr Hi Luke, saw this on YouTube earlier this day, wanted to comment on that but YouTube bugged me with creating a channel account, Google+ crap and whatnot , so I'm glad I found your thread. May I kindly ask you if you could explain to me, whatfore are these 3 distance rings on the fix page (4 nm, then 25 nm and 420 nm). Saw something similar in the 777F video of Pilotseye.tv. I started searching around but couldn't find any clue why this is done or the intention behind it (special altitudes or autopilot engagement - really have no clue). Very interested in it. Looking forward to your answer and best regards, Ben Ben Karaschinski
August 24, 201312 yr Luke is a bit microphone shy A voice recording would have been great though, so I could listen while working late at night. Thanks a Luke for that, not much difference than scans than a 767, the only difference would be me not used to be on the right seat Keep up the good work there mate. August 24, 201312 yr Commercial Member Great video Luke. Do you know if they're still working on a fix for the font at the MCP-number [6] ? Or will that be done in SP1? Won't make the initial release, sorry. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
August 24, 201312 yr Good, one less thing to hold up the release. Jeff Hendershot"Roger, Roger...What's Our Vector, Victor?"
August 24, 201312 yr Won't make the initial release, sorry. Thank you very much Ryan. But there's no need to apologize. The font isn't very important to me. - René Mosek - Future Owner Of: 'The PMDG 747-400 V3' B)

Sorry I don't actually have a decent mic at all- any suggestions would be cool if you knew any though! This wasn't a planned video either - just filmed what I did randomly before a flight lol. Looking forward to your answer and best regards, Ben 4 mile was for something on the SID - I always use 25nm on every departure for situational awareness (just a little Luke quirk) and 420nm was for the first enroute alternate. So if I had an issue before leaving the 420nm arc, I'd try and return to my origin. I enter the rest of the enroute alternates after TOC. - Luke Pabari
August 25, 201312 yr Sorry I don't actually have a decent mic at all- any suggestions would be cool if you knew any though! If you use vatsim, that mic should be good enough, it's what I use (www.youtube.com/musicalaviator) Just adjust your volume so you don't sound too loud/quiet and/or adjust FSX volume up/down. August 25, 201312 yr I've got really really high quality mics for production, but even my Logitech headset is good enough

Hi Luke, thank you very much for the explaining. Much appreciated and I understand . For the enroute alternate. When you've reached your TOC, do you then set the Fix from the first enroute alternate to the new one? Or do you draw the next arcs _f r o m_ the next enroute alternate. Example: Your initial setup: LSZH to enroute alternate LEMH (just for example): 420 nm Next enroute alternate WXYZ is 315 nm from LEMH, so you set the fix WXYZ /315? Just curious, never used that, but want to . Best regards, Ben Ben Karaschinski

When the FIX Page Enhancements OPC is not enabled, a total of two pages are available. OPC = operational program configuration = configured by airline options Therefore you could have all 3 airports (LSZH, WXYZ and LEMH) set up @ 420nm. If you don't have the enhanced OPC, and only have 2 fix pages, you would not enter WXYZ until you have entered the LEMH 420nm range ring (as then the LSZH ring would dissapear). I believe PMDG have modelled the ENHANCED FIX PAGE being enabled, therefore you will have 4 fix pages available. August 26, 201312 yr Hi, When watching you enter the flightplan in the RTE page of the FMC i saw this green flickering box appear. This is not normal for the FMC, i guess. Or is it the movie perhaps? RGS,
August 26, 201312 yr Like in the NGX, when you click on the CDU scratchpad or press TAB, it will allow you to type into the CDU with your computer keyboard. The flashing green box indicates when this is active. David Zhong New video every Thursday: Aircraft Lighting - Boeing 777
