August 27, 201312 yr But I am a bit obsessed with it & plan to master it and know that thing better than any other aircraft.Just a random question of interest- is the 777 one of those new aircrafts that shows the airport chart taxiways on the middle screen as you taxi through the airport?I just saw a video of the A380 doing this, and I thought does the 777 do that? I know the 777 does do some interesting things. Jerad Burns

No the 777 is an older generation plane compared to the A380 but airlines who ordered an EFB may have such a map in that program. Alex Jevdic KORD/KHOT/KPWKA<380 love at first flight

August 27, 201312 yr The B748 was the first Boeing to get the integrated airport map on the ND. After playing with the real A380's a few years back I'll admit it's very nice and Airbus did a nice job. Godsend for some pilots! If you or anyone else need help let me know and I'm happy to help when available. - Luke Pabari
August 27, 201312 yr Author ah I see, thanks guys.I can just imagine how much easier that map on the ND makes things. TECHNOLOGY. Jerad Burns
August 27, 201312 yr Author The B748 was the first Boeing to get the integrated airport map on the ND. Did PMDG implement this? or is that part of the next update? No the 777 is an older generation plane compared to the A380 but airlines who ordered an EFB may have such a map in that program. I didn't know the 777 was an older generation aircraft The cockpit seems to be pretty advanced and new looking compared to the NGX. Jerad Burns
August 27, 201312 yr I didn't know the 777 was an older generation aircraft Its not THAT old but its older than the A380 and 787 (glad they kept the 737 grey), the A350 will make the 777 cockpit look even more aged. Alex Jevdic KORD/KHOT/KPWKA<380 love at first flight
August 27, 201312 yr Did PMDG implement this? or is that part of the next update? If they do implement it, it will be in the 747v2 since I believe the plan is to actually model the 748 cockpit differences, but I may be wrong. Cory Baxes
August 27, 201312 yr Nice.... what are the cockpit differences between the 747-400 and the -8i? Sorry - not to hijack the thread. Was interested. Best regards,--Anders Bermann-- ____________________Scandinavian VAPilot-ID: SAS2471

Hardly going to happen considering the cost involved in getting access to the charts database. RR already commented on this in some thread. Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------

August 27, 201312 yr Nice.... what are the cockpit differences between the 747-400 and the -8i? Sorry - not to hijack the thread. Was interested. Not very much, You could say the 747-8 cockpit is a mix of the -400 and 777 flightdeck. The 747-8 can be ordered with an EFB like in the 777s, it has standard LCD screens (older 747-400s still have CRTs) The gear lever is 777 style (without an Off position, as this is done automatically by the airplane itself), There are some software improvements (like Vertical Situation Display on the ND and the Electronic Checklist) compared to the -400. And there may be some more differences systemwise, but that is actually it. Overall the flightdeck still looks quite the same as the -400 cockpit. Regards, Harm Swinkels
August 27, 201312 yr Hardly going to happen considering the cost involved in getting access to the charts database. RR already commented on this in some thread. All this new technology, while making it easier for real world pilots, is just making it harder to develop high functionality FS addons. Perhaps they could come up with a solution to read the sims AFCAD and display it on the ND. If that is actually possible without grinding systems to their knees it would be a real neat solution as what you see on the ND would be reflected in the sim.

Yes, systems and exterior model properly modeled as add-on to the B747-400 v2. I really look forward to the 744 and the 748i, but until then that 777 will keep me occupied! Now where is it???
