Boeing and Airbus

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. I am new to this but I was wondering if PMDG will release the -300 version? And, I was also wondering if PMDG has developed or will develop an Airbus airplane? If yes which variant? Or is there any Airbus airplane out there of good quality?

It will most likely never going to happen. PMDG have close relations with Boeing and it would be dangerous if they were to sought information from Airbus, it would mean Boeing would refuse to give them any more information if PMDG were to develop another aircraft.

The Airbus extended is your best choice. Not as good as the NGX but it's a good product.

Best Airbus out there is Aerosoft's Airbus X extended.

Hello Mark -

Welcome to the Forums. I am assuming you are talking about a 777-300? If you are the answer is yes. It will eventually be released as an add on just like the 600/700 was for the NGX.

Just like Jamie said - no, PMDG has no plans for any Airbus products. I believe Aerosoft makes a fairly nice Airbus add on but I have no personal experience with it.

Besides... Boeing > Airbust :P

For gods sake stop making up nonsense!

Why is it automatically assumed Boeing would pull the plug on further PMDG developments just because they may create an Airbus product?

It would make no business sense at all.

Ridiculous

It's true going Airbus MIGHT affect the boeing relationship but anyway PMDG have said they aren't looking in Airbus' direction right now

It's not nonsense if I've read others post it in reply to others multiple times in topics like these. Don't it against me.

Why the heck do people keep insisting that PMDG making an Airbus would jeopardise their relationship with Boeing?

Honeywell, Thales, Rockwell Collins, General Electric, Rolls-Royce, Fokker, Spirit Aerospace, Sonaca, all of these are examples of companies that make actual aircraft parts that go into both Airbuses and Boeings.

CAE build level-D simulators for both Airbuses and Boeings.

Heck, some 737 parts (the doors if memory serves) are built in Toulouse by an EADS subsidiary (i.e. a 'sister company' of Airbus)!

Yet people keep insisting that PMDG making an entertainment product based on an Airbus plane would somehow cause Boeing to get their underwear in a twist and refuse to ever cooperate with the creation of an entertainment product based on one of their own planes?

Just because a hundred others have said so, doesn't make it more true. It's still nonsense no matter how many replies you've read in topics like these

Guys - misinformation is a dangerous thing.  Just because you heard someone else say it doesn't mean it's correct.  Verify things occasionally to help prevent the spread of false information.

I would love to see an Airbus in PMDG quality. They make some beautiful airplanes. So real. Well, looking forward to the 777-300 Boeing. I love this airplane.

If you want an Airbus in PMDG quality, you'll have to wait some more for the FSLabs A320 to come out.

It might take quite a bit longer than the 777, maybe the 747v2 will even be released before the A320, but it WILL be worth it.

And at least, they'll be ready with it before PMDG, if PMDG had to start developing it this very second, let alone after the confirmed line-up we're looking at.
