September 11, 201312 yr Wow dude, congrats. You're an &@($*. I'm sorry I forgot to realize that nowadays you get bashed for showing sympathy and compassion, that was my intention anyway... In fact I admire him for enjoying flight sims while having to miss all the sounds. I bet you can't say what I said in Dutch jn sympathic manner. Next time, brush up on your english grammar and/or your understanding of what "sympathy and compassion"means before posting about someones impairment. Blake Williams
September 13, 201312 yr Give it a rest please. English is not his first language and he apologised. Once you speak dutch as well as he speaks english then maybe you can compare, as long as you don't, you wouldn't have a clue about how difficult speaking another language can be! Sean De Maere
September 13, 201312 yr Chaps, clearly English is not his first language so lay off. Crikey. No need to go around taking the moral high ground for no reason. Cheers, Rudy

September 13, 201312 yr Commercial Member I LOVE PFPX - but thank god I knew what half of it meant prior because there is no real tutorial. I pretty much taught myself and found a lot of features by accident. I'll write a post tonight (hopefully) on setting up ETOPS for the 777. I won't go through Notices To Airmen (NOTAMS) because they're pretty irrelevant to an FS user and plenty of information online. haha - I use them, but you're right: things that most here would probably ignore (it's a luxury of the sim, really...nobody's going to send an F-16 up after you for ignoring those things). Flew a Cessna into DCA on a 1200 squawk the other day. Few here will know how good that feels...I'm okay with that. (For those who are curious, go to SkyVector.com, go to KDCA and observe the giant, red, "we will kill you if you come in here with a non-discrete code" circles.) Kyle Rodgers
September 14, 201312 yr Haha, I am glad you made it back Kyle, it would be a dull, dull place without you So, did you get some, ahem..., feedback?
September 14, 201312 yr Commercial Member Haha, I am glad you made it back Kyle, it would be a dull, dull place without you So, did you get some, ahem..., feedback? haha - I guess I should've been more specific: I flew into DCA on a 1200 squawk in the sim because I obviously can't in real life. ...and no. I've gotten "feedback" once, and I won't ever again. It wasn't even my fault, either. Back in the day (when it was called the "Washington DC ADIZ"), I took off out of JYO to head out to the practice area (towards OKV if anyone's curious). My transponder wasn't picked up by Potomac after departure, so they said "get out." My instructor said "JYO's out maintenance base - we'd like to return." No response. Repeated. No response. He told me to continue around the pattern (hadn't even left it, really). Got all the way to final (had COM1/2 both up so that we could listen to Potomac and talk to those on CTAF) and heard "N54467, expect a phone call when you get down!!!" Got inside and had the chief pilot there at the front desk. Not a good feeling. Called the TRACON and talked to a Sup. She said that despite the action contrary to the instruction, she understood why we did it, and that nothing would come of it. Pretty sure it made the news somewhere, though, because you could see a quick blurb about it if you searched the tail number. Haven't seen it recently, though. A couple weeks later, I was on my solo XC and it almost did it to me again on the way back home... Kyle Rodgers

I'm not nagging Luke, just curious. Have you had time to do this yet? If not, no worries, just curious. Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
September 15, 201312 yr I'm not nagging Luke, just curious. Have you had time to do this yet? If not, no worries, just curious. Gavin- Nah no worries man. I wrote half of it then fell asleep - then unexpectedly got seriously busy with RW flying (still am). Now my laptop seems to have died and it's not looking promising. Until I can get it sorted or something else which would be quite a while, I'm going to be pretty static where the whole FS community is concerned, unfortunately. - Luke Pabari

Sorry to hear about the laptop, hope you can get something sorted soon. Conversely, sounds like the RW stuff is going well, so that's a plus. To be honest, I'm finding myself getting more and more into PFPX; playing around with different buttons doesn't damage anything and seems to be doing the trick so far. Best for now :-) Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

Best for now :-) Well it's been countless attempts at my long cross country - two weeks in a row and both aircraft messed up. One in air and other on ground......... Was meant to try today but I'm a bits sick. I found my laptop has 24M warranty - so hopefully the company I bought from reply with something positive. Fingers crossed! - Luke Pabari
