That is the way of technology.... it moves on.  2d has been "legacy" for some time now, and it was only a matter of time before it became completely deprecated.  A 2d panel, much like the hard-wire telephone, pager and Atari (or Nintendo, Turbo Graphix 16 or whatever console of your generation), had it's place; but that place has been replaced.  The 3d "VC" is where technology has led, it may take some getting used to, but in the end, it has it's rewards.

Hmmm... I checked my F10 key; no hole.  My daughter (she is six) was watching me roll out of the chocks this afternoon and she thought this c/p was soooo much nicer than "that other jet you fly, daddy".  That would be the NGX.  So nicer look, better feel, and 6 year old approved!  I mentioned to her a few minutes ago that there was a user on the DG that wanted the 2D cockpit, and she said "But why?  That seems so FAKE..."

After a small talk, she said she'd develop a 2D cockpit if you need one.  Funny little girl...  she needs about another 6 months of coding experience.

Before I bought my current car I did research all about it: how many ccs, optionals, customer reviews, etc... Now I don't have a single complaint point on it since I did my homework before buying it

 

It seems that you just bought it without even reading or investigating this forum.... I find it excellent that this plane has only VC.. Have you noticed it running smoother than the MD-11? Or even NGX?

 

And my opinion about the price: it is a very reasonable one: PMDG has dozen of employees that worked countless hours to develop this beauty... Don't be selfish and respect their job and such a great work that they provided to us.

Well, as I said in the previous post where I Copied the 'ENTIRE" product page. They DID NOT say no 2d panel. And I bought this on the PMDG reputation and the FACT that the 737ngx DOES have one. Sooo, I would think that in you're analagy that if you previously owned a chevy with an dashboard, you would be reasonable to assume if you purchase another it would have one too. You shouldn't have to track down posts on a separate forum to find out that it doesn't. So no need to flame me because I didn't go to 20 different websites and just read the product description. Even Majestic stated that thier Dash 8 had no 2D panel "at least in a round about way" on thier product page by saying it was available on the more expensive package.

Then you can use the pop-up PFD/ND/Standby ADI/EICAS/Lower EICAS and FMS screens to populate your own MFD screens.

 

Still no need for a 2d panel which is basically all the popups mentioned above placed in a static bitmap image with some clickspots.

 

The PMDG 777 even comes with popup radio panel and MCP which you can use, although not needed on a hardware sim like that.

Another one will bite the Avsim dust...
