September 17, 201312 yr I know I was and then my son came up with this extremely simple yet super-efficient solution the other day, he said: "Why don't you just get some of that sliding protection rubber net you normally put under your carpets at home to make them stay in place"? So...that's what I did. Found the sliding protection rubber net on IKEA and I got several meters for like $5! I always loved great solutions not setting me back more than a couple of $ Thought I should share this with you guys because I have a feeling I'm not the only one with a pair of pedals sliding over the floor especially after the rubber feet that came with the pedals are getting old. Here's a picture (and forgive the lousy quality) what it looks like after I cut I suitable piece of the rubber net out and attached it to my CH pedals using the kind of tape that is sticky on both sides. If you're really lazy you don't even need to attach it to the pedals since it will pretty much stay in place by itself due to it's sticky nature.
September 17, 201312 yr Awesome! Gotta head down to Ikea this weekend and get some myself now. Michael R
September 17, 201312 yr Commercial Member just ordered some from amazon great idea Thanks Clive Clive Joy
September 17, 201312 yr Very good idea, thanks to your son _______________________________________________________________________________________Best regards / Schöne GrüßeWerner
September 17, 201312 yr Author Very good idea, thanks to your son Guess the risk is he might get cocky but sure I'll tell him his idea is now widespread in the FS community ;-)
September 17, 201312 yr Author I use velcro. That is also a great idea! What I liked with using the method I showed here is you don't have to attach anything to the floor.
September 17, 201312 yr Nice! I've been using a heavy rubber door mat to keep them from sliding on the hardwood floor, but this solution looks much cleaner. Barry Friedman
September 17, 201312 yr Another idea might be to screw the pedals to a peice of plywood, and then screw 1 heavy duty rubber feet to the plywood.. I know quietpc.com do specialised rubber feet to go on the bottom of PC cases that dont mark or skid around, that way its heavier, and wont slide about, and wont get full of dust/dirt, thus need replacing :-) Richard... I was actually thinking about using a rubber door mat myself before my son gave me this idea. September 17, 201312 yr Great idea. Since I have the Volair Sim cockpit, I just clamped mine to it, but when they were on the floor, that used to drive me crazy. Robert Yunque PilotEdge Ratings = CAT-11 (2016-09-13) I-11 (2016-10-23) V-3 (2016-08-01)
September 18, 201312 yr I did a similar thing a while ago and grabbed a couple of rolls of a similar product from a discount store for just a couple of bucks. Works well on the pedals and has come in handy for other things around the house too.
