September 19, 201312 yr LOL ? you call weather radar to a cloud map ? which is totally unrealistic! Have you ever heard something called "irony"? David Benjamin
September 19, 201312 yr http://www.aivlasoft.com/products/efb/ I'm glad you brought this up. I've had my eyes on this one for a while now, but I can't bring myself to pull the trigger. How good is their non-US chart database? I really don't care about US ones, as they're more than easily found, but the rest of the world is scattered and not so easy to find. Other features are nifty, but really what I'm looking for is charts-in-one-place :-) Marko Milivojević
September 19, 201312 yr The charts in the Aivlasoft EFB are really more like pseudo-charts...they are synthesized from the nav database. If you're looking for a comprehensive source of worldwide charts, Navigraph's new subscription service is probably the best one-stop-shop for the simmer. Since they added Jeppesen as a data source, their coverage of our sim world is pretty comprehensive. September 20, 201312 yr The EFB discussion is getting to the same levels of weather radar for me, in terms of its annoyingness. "I DON'T KNOW REALLY WHAT IT DOES, BUT SOMEONE MADE ONE, AND I WANT IT!!!" ...it doesn't do most of what a real EFB does. All it's doing is displaying crappy images of charts that you had to convert yourself, and are now inconvenienced by in terms of having to look over and zoom in absurd amounts. "I DON'T CARE!!! I WANT IT!!!" If you want partially-functional eye candy, there are other developers for that. After I over did a de-rate the other day and did my best reenactment of this: (language warning) http://youtu.be/UZGXwbPfwQs?t=54s  I want the EFB for the takeoff calcs, but I think that was the part that was cost prohibitive to license.. :( Steve Caffey

If you're looking for a comprehensive source of worldwide charts Couldn't agree more. The charts are perfect for the average serious simmer and way worth the price tag. Especially now I believe they have a mobile version of their app? It's second best if you don't have access to JeppTC. Airlines such as British Airways use the same charts from Navigraph (Navtech for RW) - so I think that says something positive! - Luke Pabari
September 20, 201312 yr tell you what works for me , a second screen with some PDFs and skyvector on full screen with my current route in it , sometimes i also drag the FMS over too ..... here is my setup on the pit ... ignore my weather guy lol .. Image removed as image is no longer available.
September 20, 201312 yr Skyvector has no charts for airports outside FAA space… I use it for all domestic flights, but I'm looking to expand :-) Marko Milivojević
September 20, 201312 yr here is my setup on the pit ... ignore my weather guy lol .. Hahaha! That's a good setup instead of a weather radar! ------------------------ Mattias Nordin ESOW

September 20, 201312 yr Icemark , skyvector has all the details you need even outside the US and about IAPs ,SIDs if you dont have a woldwide database like I do it only takes a second or 2 for google to find plenty of PDFs for any airport even out of the US... September 21, 201312 yr Why don't you guys try this for viewing charts in the sim environmnent. It's a module called PDFKneebord that you can place in your FSX/FS9 directory http://code.google.com/p/fscode/wiki/PDFKneeboard Alex Caloi

Does that give out the five day forecast for a long week of flying? :LMAO: Daniel T Costa
