I would like to see this just as much as anyone, but Ryan has stated that this is a project that they will work on in-between other projects to keep them busy. Since the T-7 is complete and the 747v2 is in the works I would not look for it anytime soon.

Besides the 737NGX that will be the most important release from PMDG for me, so I am also interested into news for this.

 

Good the T7 is out now, but I for example will never own it, just looking forward for the DC-6.

Perhaps it's time for another Randazzo "Here's where things stand at the moment" post.

Over a year ago he showed us pictures of a full airplane, flying, and cockpit...you can't tell me that it isn't further along than it is.

Sometimes PMDG follow through and sometimes they move the target.

I wouldn't say this is the same as the Dash, given that they seemed to have been further along on this. My recollection is the Dash was yanked because it turned out to be more complicated than anticipated. (I'm paraphrasing/condensing, but Robert answered some Q&A and said something to that effect, noting that they still would like to do it. (My suspicion is probably not because of Majestic, but who knows. Too bad, I would buy it.)) I think they were further along on the DC-6 before it kind of got bumped by the other products. Too bad, really. As awesome as the T7 and 747.2 may be, I just can't justify buying (any more) long haul aircraft given my time available. Probably will by the DC-6.

Bingo.  I haven't heard anything since the Munich conference, but I'd imagine similar, regarding the future of the project.

For what it's worth, the time accel feature can cut a lot of time out of flights, to make it fit into "NGX-Sized" time blocks.  Then again, if you're as opposed to accel as I am, then you're right - it's tough to get in the more realistic flights (though there are a few that are the same length as NG flights).

 

I'm definitely stoked to have a DC-6, too.

I remember that Robert said in Munich that the Dash turned out to be much more work than expected - about the same as a flagship jetliner proper. 

A year and a half later, I don't think that the succesful release of Majestic Q400 and stated intention to do the 300 later would lead to PMDG reviving the project. But I don't see inside PMDG, so they might as well unveil the Dash as their next project tomorrow.

Perhaps not the way I would have phrased it, but it does sum up how I feel. The iPad is a stunning bit of kit but I have to admit that I am looking forward to another plane like the JS41 where the pilot is not there 'just in case' but actually has to fly it.
