This can't be true!

Featured Replies

Yesterday I've installed Dubai rebooted for the first time since was released, I was thinking, OK maybe I wont have 30FPS on this scenery, it's so complex and with the PMDG 777 it will put my PC on it's knees!

After the installation was complete I was prepare to see and prayer to have at least 15-20 FPS. The plane was on the runway (PMDG 777) I pressed Shift+Z and bang 30FPS SOLID!!

I said, WHAT???? This can't be true, how come 30FPS on this scenery? Than I have created overcast condition and still 30FPS, I have moved the mouse on the cockpit 28 FPS at the minimum. I'm amazed about this.

All this time I was afraid to install this scenery because I didn't expect so high FPS! Why can't every scenery be like this one, so optimized and, so good looking? Many trips to OMDB from now on for me!!!!

Albert,

you forgot to activate AI traffic!    :P

Seriously, it's a fantastic scenery and it made me download dozens of (fictitious) Emirates liveries for all my planes! (And a collection of Arabic songs for my "inflight entertainment system".)

What happened to AVSIM

I don't have AI traffic because I don't use it, I fly online!

I have GSX and I don't see more than 2FPS hit with GSX active.

Fly Tampa has had me hooked since PHNL. Not one bad scenery!

I've got nearly all of FlyTampa's stuff, with the exception of their small Carribean airports. Top shelf stuff, all of it.

I'm really looking forward to FlyTampa's YSSY (Sydney, Australia)...which from the forum rumblings appears to be getting close. I sure wish they'd reconsider a remake of Seattle, though.

I like jumping to outside view after the autopilot is on T777 and watch Dubai accelerating away from it, looks so damn real!

There is only one reason why it works at 30 fps.

It's FLY TAMPA !

The are renowned for their texture modifications and tricks, with a direct eye performance - all the time.

Lol, so you're saying you've never owned a FlyTampa scenery?

They never made PHNL, FSDT made PHNL.

Oops I meant TNCM. It felt funny when I was writing it.

FlyTampa just destroys the competition.   All competition.

I wouldn't be fussed on them remaking Seattle though - not because I don't want a new Seattle (love PNW!) - but because the Seattle area, in my opinion is like London; they're both broken in FSX in terms of there being a huge, disproportionate frame rate hit.

Hence Seattle / Portland / London / Paris / Amsterdam - they are all areas in FSX I just don't fly any more.   Even with good quality, efficient scenery like UK2000 Gatwick Xtreme, the hit is just too high when you're around areas like Seattle, Portland, London and Paris.          That's just my take on it though; I'm sure some get performance they're happy with in those areas.

As I said in another thread somewhere, I would love to see a FlyTampa Scandinavian scenery; in Norway or Sweden.

London is a FPS killer, I avoid that area with all cost, I even make my flt plans to go around it!

Thanks, O. Skinner
