SAAB Released!

I've taken a few things into consideration for a future update.

We can certainly add the scratches (just take a look at the gauges of the DC-3 we made).

I'll discuss with the others and see what we come up with.

As more sceneries come out I see this render hog they call HDR becoming more of an issue.

Given that HDR is one of X-Plane's biggest selling points (it simply looks great in early morning and the evening), LR should really try to optimize it further.

(Although my personal findings are that HDR performance has indeed increased since the initial XP10 release.)

Can we have a video showing off the sounds for this plane?  The redpiper video doesn't do this too well.

Ideally a video taking us through start up, so we can hear all these subtle sounds as systems get switched on.

Maybe you could make the scratches as an option for those of us that like that look ? It adds a lot to the immersion, otherwise it looks like there is nothing there but air.

You could get into the Saab, put the forward viewpoint where you like it and would most often have it.. Take a knife and scratch the heck out of your computer monitor where the windscreen is on the Saab.. There you have it, windshield scratches!!   (For the record I'm only kidding, don't do this!)

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

+1 to this. Most people on Youtube seem to want to ruin videos by placing music over the top of it, or adding effects. Would be nice to see and hear it unedited. I'm sure vids will appear in the next few days though

We have one in the works, and there are a few that have been getting uploaded by customers, so someone may get to it before we do.

He pushed the engines a little too hard on takeoff (they WILL fail if it happens often) but it shows the sounds

Excellent.  I noticed the beating sound of the engines being slightly out of phase, is it possible to stop the beating sound by bringing the engines in phase by prop / throttle adjustment?

It sounds very similar to the Dash 8 engines, and the Saab 2000.  I've not travelled in the Saab 340, but somehow had it in my head that it would sound the same as a JS41 (I've travelled in those many many times) because it looks very similar .

It also sounds like the engines start up in a feathered state, but go straight to a low idle setting.

There is a Prop Sync switch in the cockpit. The person who made the video probably didn't engage it.  Alternatively, you could definitely do it yourself.

The sounds are provided by TSS and are definitely a Saab 340.

The engines do start up in a feathered state.  There are 4 detents for the Condition Levers.  START - UNF - MIN - MAX.  All work to spec as far as the AOM is concerned and all have their own respective sounds.  They will stay feathered, with the accompanying sound, until the condition levers are moved to UNF, and so on.

There are also different sounds when the Power levers are in GRD IDLE and FLT IDLE.

It's a very complex engine system that was given the tick of approval by the testers (3 of which are Saab pilots).

My nest acquisition for X-Plane 10 :-) that's for sure!
