September 23, 201312 yr No they are not the same at all. I do not advocate pestering someone for the release date of a new product. Pointless and futile. However, if I pay money for something then I see no reason why I should not have the consumer right to ask my supplier when they might be able to fix my product. This is the world of commerce. Whether you buy a sofa, a bottle of beer, a car, a house or flight sim software, the same rules apply. Done respectfully and politely then all is good. Thank you for the link, I really appreciate it. JON You have a right to ask, and they have a right to answer the same way everyone else here is answering. It's done when it's done, PMDG don't do release dates until they want to do them. 99% of the users only have minor problems, nothing to keep them from flying. PMDG have been working with those 1% who cannot fly
September 23, 201312 yr I agree with what you are saying and nobody is or should be demanding a fix within 24 hours. I also agree that optimistic but unachievable release dates are very unwise for all concerned. My original point is that consumers should never feel unable to ask pertinent questions if the product they have purchased does not perform correctly. The link you provided shows that issues have been identified and are being addressed, just as you would expect from a quality bunch like PMDG. But no supplier should be immune from questioning where appropriate and it is unfair to express frustration at those who genuinely do. I have an idea. PMDG have the email addresses of everyone who has purchased the T7. How about a mass message to all purchasers simply saying "Sorry, a few small initial gremlins but we are working on them as fast as possible. Be in touch again very soon with more news". A personalised message like that to all customers might be useful and can be done at the click of a mouse. September 23, 201312 yr I can imagine that the date will be near to the release of the CD version logic they will want to release a CD that has no errors. I think it's better to wait untill all bugs have been fixed there are no Major bugs just one or two small things so enjoy flying after buying :-) FRED.
September 23, 201312 yr Commercial Member [Pre-coffee post] So, there's this issue with releasing hotfixes: You have to fix the problem to issue a fix. If there are multiple issues, then there will likely be multiple fixes in one hotfix to avoid inconveniencing everyone with a new hotfix every few hours as each of them are solved. It avoids all of the "which fix is the correct fix???" posts that would be bound to pop up. The fixes will come out when they're ready. It's not wrong to ask the question, but that's always the answer. So, no, it's not taboo, but you're going to get the same answer each time. Kyle Rodgers
September 23, 201312 yr I like your 'Walking on egg shells' description Jon, it sort of sums it all up here. Dave Taylor

All I ask is that suppliers do all they can to communicate with customers. Customers should not feel that its pointless asking a supplier a genuine question about a product issue. I like your 'Walking on egg shells' description Jon, it sort of sums it all up here. Hello Dave If you are referring to these forums then yes I agree, the eggshells turn to a minefield very quickly!! September 23, 201312 yr Because this communication has taken place over and over again: Release dates are estimates only. Estimates are more likely wrong than correct. A (likely) wrong date will cause another bazillion (two bazillions, to be precise ) of similar threads. PMDG used to make mistakes by issuing those dates; they've corrected their communication since. This horse has been beaten - Pacman-like ( ) - to its deaths numerous times. Now, please, let it R.I.P. ... B) Once you've purchased a product at the end of the day its still the job of the developer to provide up-to-date information to the purchaser of their product. In PMDG's case we don't have to worry about having a non-working plane and zero support but its still always common courtesy. I could personally wait as long as the wait needs to be since I am happy with the product as is and I believe it to be near-perfect... but thats just me, Others do feel that their concerns and frustrations be fixed in a more timely manner regardless of how unrealistic it may be. In either situation its still the purchasers right to ask questions and feel whatever way they want about the status of the product. Paul Smith

September 23, 201312 yr Haven't PMDG been doing that??? Yeah they have. I was just making the point that you can't say "we are beating a dead horse" everytime someone asks a perfectly rational question because in the end the moment they purchased the plane it became their privilege to ask questions. Just to clear the air, I am not complaining nor asking about who/what/where/when/why because I am perfectly contempt on where we are now. I am just agreeing that while the question(s) people may have been asked tons of times (although it has gotten repetitive and slightly annoying) we just can't write people off cause in the end it is still their right to ask. September 24, 201312 yr I think we need T-shirts. You know, along the lines of team team Edward vs team Jacob, lol Rob Robson
September 24, 201312 yr It will be released at 24:30z February 30th. What year? Gary, CIMEL, retired FAA Controller & all around good guy!

September 24, 201312 yr These posts never seize to amaze me. *grabs popcorn* Anywho, don't mind me. Carry on gentlemen. On another note, my toast is a little burnt on one side..Somebody mind putting another piece in the toaster for me? Also, I noted today the coffee pot was EMPTY..Somebody needs to rectify this problem immediately! Am I supposed to put my overly priced and powered computer specs here? Sorry, I must have no tolerance for idiots who do that. So when's the PMDG 777x gonna' be released? Sorry you got your hopes up..But hey..Look on the bright side...It's not for FSX.. -Sincerely, Shawn O.
