October 10, 201312 yr I was also asking myself often this question...and more to find out what part it has vs FSX. My estimation/guess is 30'000-40'000 XP-users And for FSX around 1 Million users But in reality i have no idea. It's just a little strange that there aren't any datas published. A lot of other companies (not in the FS-market) are publishing every year at least their datas like volume of sales etc. and not only the ones who are in the stock exchange.... i9 12900k, RTX 3090, 32GB RAM
October 10, 201312 yr I would sy that with far less staff and overheads he is doing OK with his number of sales. If anything, with a staff of only a few it's sad that his return of revenue back in to the business is so low. My guess is if it was a bit higher some long awaited features would be there and tidied up. This is perhaps one of the things that irks me about LR. They are making enough but not investing it back in the product.
October 11, 201312 yr They are making enough but not investing it back in the product. That would be pure speculation on your part. You have no way of knowing how LR operates... financially or otherwise. Stick to facts and stop drawing conclusions based on "guesses" and you will be a lot less "irked".

Stick to facts and stop drawing conclusions based on "guesses" and you will be a lot less "irked". Yes, speculation. How many developers on the xplane team? Two? Three? How much to they get paid? I wont guess what developers make in the states but I have an idea. How much did xplane make from xplane 10 sales? They dont say but as a company on the whole we know when they released the apple app they made millions. We also know apple take 30% of that. So they still made millions. Back in 2010 Austin said there were around 500,000 iphone/ipod users and growing rapidly. I dont remember the price back them, it was either $5 or $10. Either way it significantly boosted the companies income. Dont get me wrong. Austin can do what ever he likes with his money. He _deserves_ it, no question. As a consumer of his product bought from day one and now two years down the track I can wonder why he hasnt got at least one other person on board. Clearly they can afford it but with the nice profit they still want to plod along at the pace of a few people. Yes, speculation but there are some published facts around to help support my view.
October 11, 201312 yr Commercial Member Yes, speculation. How many developers on the xplane team? Two? Three? No. More than that. How much to they get paid? I wont guess what developers make in the states but I have an idea. Does it make a difference? If a total stranger asked you how much you get paid, would you answer honestly...if at all? What I know for sure is that Austin is very generous to his staff when it comes to wages. As a consumer of his product bought from day one and now two years down the track I can wonder why he hasnt got at least one other person on board. Clearly they can afford it but with the nice profit they still want to plod along at the pace of a few people. He actually hired TWO more people in recent months. One who is making a new default Garmin. Another one for customer service, I think.
October 11, 201312 yr In that case Goran, I am glad to hear it! What do the developers make? I dont care what they get paid but wages would be the big ticket item as far as expenses and that was the only reason I mentioned it.

No idea what they make, but I have spoken to 1 or 2 of them and they are happy with the wage they are getting.
October 11, 201312 yr For example (only one from so many) this: http://www.flightsim...h-Andras-Fabian Andras, I've shown your site to my office mate, a nice portuguese girl who spends her weekend walking, climbing mountains, even going to remote places like Mount Elbrus in Russia ( the highest mountain in Europe, although some say it's Asia )... She looks forward for one day being able to visit New Zealand :-) I'll contact you for support there when she finds the $$$time to go :-) I told her she might feel Dizzy upside down there... but she's ready as far as that goes... Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
