October 24, 201312 yr Wait longer? Ohhhh.... That's gonna be hard but I will consider it! I am using a 2.2 ghz labtop now and believe me, it Blows! Hoping to get a whole new system from cyberpc. But you have a point about the 780 ti. At the very least I bet the EVGA 780 price will drop. Bet they will fix the problems with your version of 780 soon though, Atleast it is not affecting FSX if I am reading you correctly. B. October 25, 201312 yr I have EVGA GTX 780 with ACX Cooler. I just want to point out that recently I am getting quite alot of 'Nvidia driver 3xx.xx stopped working and has recovered' errors. This also includes random hangs and BSODs. First I thought that it might be because of the overclock but then I downclocked the graphics card and still getting the same error. Here is the funny part. It doesn't happens when playing games. Only happens when you are browsing the net, watching a video on youtube or using any other 2d application or just even listening to a song on music players. The errors are quite random. I did a quick search on the EVGA forums and I see that quite a lot of people are facing the same issues. Now I am not sure if it's the GPU itself or crappy nvidia drivers. Also to add, this gpu comes with a very nice factory overclock and I am really really happy with the temps. But these random errors are getting quite annoying. Personally I would recommend to hold tight and wait for GTX 780 Ti to arrive. Don't go for the EVGA GTX 780 ACX version just yet because people are facing problems with that gpu. GTX 780 Ti will be around the same price of the current 780 and will offer more performance. It's getting released in mid november. Any kind of error code? What does your Event Viewer say at the time of the issue? I'm sure you did, but just to check, you did install the latest driver from Nvidia, rather than from the EVGA CD? For a new card, best to manually uninstall your old cards drivers prior to new drivers, rather than allowing the new driver installer to do it automatically. What are your fan speeds? What sort of temps? My fans were at 40% when idle. And 26 degrees, according to Precision X. However, I've just updated the BIOS this morning and there has been a change in fan speeds. Fans are now at 26% at idle. Same temp. Is there a new BIOS for your card?

Fan speed is at 39% and gpu is idling at 29c. Room temp is around 30c. I'll try to update my motherboard bios and see if anything changes. October 25, 201312 yr I meant your GTX 780 BIOS. If there's one available. If you go to the EVGA website, members home, my products and then hit view details on your product, there will be a link for a new BIOS if there's one available. 30C is bloody hot, how about your enclosure temps? getting enough air flow? With such a high ambient temperature that could be your issue. Check motherboard temps, CPU temps etc. Check the windows event viewer for any error messages at the time of the issue. Copy and paste it to a word doc and it will give you all the info. Look for the error code.

October 25, 201312 yr From what I have read, their have been a lot of assumptions so far about the GTX 780 ti and its price. But what if they price it higher than the current GTX 780? How possible is that? MY FLIGHT SIM BLOG http://deskpilot518.blogspot.com/ Proud supporter of Intercity Airways, visit www.ViaIntercity.com
October 26, 201312 yr " we can only assume that GTX 780 TI performance will come at a high price, ". Quote from a recent article found here . http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/32943-geforce-gtx-780-ti-to-end-up-faster-than-titan So guessing they are right i think I will go for the GTX EVGA 780. The EVGA 780 already comes close to matching the Titan and I am using only I 1080p monitor. But will research the driver problems first. B. November 4, 201312 yr Does anyone in this thread run 3 24" screens (5760x1200).. curious how a 780 (3GB) handles that res with 4xSGSS and weather/rain/clouds.. i have a 670 2GB.. a medium mix of weather can still drop things 15 fps (locked at 30).. mainly due to the AA at this high of a resolution. November 4, 201312 yr Not sure why you are making yourself suffer a considerable reduction in frame rate and huge inconvenience for the sake of a cheap joystick, but there you go. I don't wish to upset you or be rude, but Sorry, I suspect your testing protocol was invalid. Makes no sense to test while the sim is in a buggy, mouse cursor on screen, state. It tells us nothing about how your card is handling the sim in normal conditions. As I said, only that the 780 handles the mouse cursor bug better. Your AA is also low. Even if your frame rates were 300% greater than mine you shouldn't have seen more than 9% increase in frame rate, not 27%, not with such low AA.. I have demonstrated, that its at higher AA settings that the benefits of a more powerful card are manifest in FSX. Others have confirmed this in other threads. As I say, I don't wish to get on your case, your decision to test before and after the upgrade and post about it was laudable, but it is important to objectively test, and do our best to provide valid results. It's also important for us to challenge those results if we feel they could be in error. This is important, because we need to make sure we aren't encouraging others to upgrade based on faulty data. +1 Tis the way it is.
