October 18, 201312 yr Well, my daughter reads books and I like to read what she reads so I was reading this book that was set in Portland Maine. I don't know anything about the area so I flew in there. Pretty interesting place...you get the lay of the coast for the book. While I was up there I remembered Sunday River...a ski resort over by Conneticut and thought it'd be interesting to fly over it so I flew over to Berlin Connecticut...interesting VOR approach. Then down to Bedford Mass...right near Harvard and Cambridge. From there down to Martha's Vineyard. All in all, nice sightseeing. Gregg Actually it was Berlin, New Hampshire. Muddled mind early in the morning. No tower but it's nestled in a valley. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
October 18, 201312 yr +1 for KLCI. Flew there IRL, absolutely fantastic views on approach. I'd try it in the sim but my computer is right now over 8000 nm away (8486 but who's counting). -Phil Kretschmer
October 18, 201312 yr Can you provide me with a link to the Plum Island Scenery? Did a search and couldn't find it. Also consider KORH. An interesting approach to 29 as the airport is 1007' ASL. If you are not careful, a hill side comes up very abruptly and requires attention. Thanks +1. Here you go. http://secure.simmarket.com/fsaddon-plum-island-for-fsx.phtml
October 18, 201312 yr Can you provide me with a link to the Plum Island Scenery? Did a search and couldn't find it. Yep, as Edgar said above, I also got it from Simmarket, about 4 years ago but I believe they still sell it. Thanks for the great suggestions so far, I am steadily formulting my flight plans for the tour. @ Chris_327 - Nice vid, I'm a huge fan of Guido's videos.... amazing!

October 18, 201312 yr I am from NE, Maine actually. I was going to try to give you a few suggestions but no way I can narrow it down to just one airport per state, there is too much to see :-) Jay
October 19, 201312 yr When you pass through NJ, I have you covered almost no matter what airport you decide to hit. Well. Mostly. I've only gotten around to updating 2 airports for MSE v2 textures and only one of them is fully compatible (KBLM mostly matches ground textures, KMIV is fully redone to match - should be available in the AVSIM library tomorrow). KLDJ is a great little airport near Manhattan if you don't want to mess with the huge KEWR or the medium KTEB. It's also a great destination after flying through the NYC SFRA if that's in your plan. Just loop around Staten Island and up the Raritan River and you're all set for a pattern entry or direct approach. KACY is indeed a great airport to hit up on your way down the Jersey Shore, but again if you're looking for something smaller there is 26N just a few more miles south. Check out all the possibilities at the MSE Airports site. Though you plan on passing through, you should hop into a bush plane and try some of the private fields - I have fenced in runways and telephone wires ready to really challenge your approaches onto non-flattened ground on the grass strips. Also, I recently flew in and out of EdGeneer Cox's wonderful KGFL rendition, which is nestled in the eastern foothills of the Adirondack Mountains and should fit well into the MSE scenery. I know that's a ways inland but still may be worth a look Drew Sikora Staff Blog Founder/Designer, MSE Airports
October 19, 201312 yr Danbury KDXR Mr Warnecke has superb videos. I highly recommend his channel. Doesn't have to be only one, I'll visit anywhere you recommend. ... many suggestions are better than none. When you pass through NJ, I have you covered almost no matter what airport you decide to hit. October 19, 201312 yr @ Gaiiden - I've no idea how I managed to miss your MSE Airports project but having just spent 15 minutes on your website, I am staggered at the work you've done, and what it available. EDIT: I downloaded a load of NJ airports but when I came to install, I noticed the huuuuge list of required external objects that need to be installed. Not to take away from your brilliant efforts and work but I am about 2 hours into trying to find those objects (most links in the airport Readme files are dead). It's a shame as the pics for your airports look great, but with so many external required objects and files, I doubt I'm going to be able to enjoy them. :(

Doesn't have to be only one, I'll visit anywhere you recommend. ... many suggestions are better than none. For Maine, try a costal flight from Bar Harbor KBHB down to Portland KPWM via the old NAS at Brunswick KNHZ For an inland trip take off from Bangor KBGR over Mt Katadin to Greenvile (Mooshead lake) 3B1 or use an amphib and land right in town on the water at 52B Then run down to Rangeley for either a land 8BO or water landing M57 From there I would head west to Berlin north of Mt Washington KBML Jay
October 19, 201312 yr Can you provide me with a link to the Plum Island Scenery? Did a search and couldn't find it. Bill Womack has gone off on his own and has his own company, iBlueYonder, and website: http://iblueyonder.com/ . You can find links to purchase his scenery here, including Plum Island. Apologies Dave for the OT post, but if people weren't aware I thought they might be interested. Carry on... interesting info for someone who spends most of his time west of the Mississippi. Scott
October 19, 201312 yr Another great Maine GA destination: Sanford, KSFM with ILS, two runways, cafe, fuel...take a cab ride to the Marginal Way in Ogunquit for some fresh ocean air and sea food... Fishers Island in NY, OB8...oh wait. Maybe not with those aircraft, 2300 or 1800ft runway. Or maybe...think I'll go try it with the Duke! i7-9700K, MSI Z370, PNY 4070 Super, GTX 750Ti, 32GB GSkill, 43" curved Samsung, 32" BenQ, 11" LED, RealSImGear GTN750, Win10, P3DV5.4/P3DV6 and MSFS, several GoFlight modules, Saitek radio, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Virtual Fly TQ6.
